kills me the number of dumbass marines and marine moms that think this was "4 on 1"
and I don't think it was the marine that has the fractures vertebrae.

I don't use the word WE when referring to LSU's "fanbase" I assure you.
I didn't...I tried to make that clear.

With all due respect to you (as I'm not directing this at you, just using this phrase as a jumping off point) what exactly did people THINK was going to happen when our own FANS ran around bad mouthing JJ and essentially tossing him out with the trash LONG before we'd even heard one iota of whatever side of his story existed? So many of our fans seemed to not only expect this type of thing (despite the fact that the guy has had no history of anything like this from what we know of him) but were actually THRILLED as it would mean "their guy" would get to be under center.
While I agree the types of things that went on last night on the pages was outrageous, I am a bit perplexed by the suddenly concern for our QB from the same fan base that was lashing him on here barely 24 hours ago.

I think they may try to introduce some of these guys' IRL superiors to their online selves.

Once again. An unneeded personal attack, which is against board rules. Once again, you're off topic as well. Im not talking about the OP's post, im talking about the reference to USMC's being highschool screwups.
Hence the rhetorical meaning of TIFWIW. "I know I shouldn't be saying this, but I mean it, so let me put this TIFWIW disclaimer here to absolve me of any wrong doing."

Love this part:

Got a letter from the base commander in Washington when we got back to Hawaii commending us for beating their arse cuz apparently they bullied everyone on the base.

I think you've seen too many movies.

My experiences with Marines during my years in the Navy are similar to yours Choctaw. Always someone trying to prove how tough they were.

It's just a sore spot for me. I find myself in verbal warfare with more LSU "fans" than the opposition.

nothing like when a couple of military morons get a hold of a computer and start bashing a college athlete.
classy.

The marines do one thing well and that is fight wars. They are heroes for what they do on the battlefield and to protect this great country. But from someone who spent alot of time with the marines when he was in the Navy, the marine corps is full of some of the shittiest individuals you will ever meet. They are arrogant and think they can do what ever they want because they are MARINES. Their code that they "live" by in respect to honor is bullshite, but it sounds good in public. The only time that rule is in play is on the battlefield where they belong.

is JJ's life in danger? these marines/moms seem pretty fricking unhinged. president Kennedy and the university of Texas can tell you when a marine gets unhinged it usually isn't pretty.

What do you expect...god bless those that fight for our country but it isn't exactly filled with intelligent people. Many of them are people that couldn't get into college and they don't have a lot of option.

Exactly. These marines and their moms that are threatening JJ act like a marine can do no wrong. I am very pro-military, but in every group of people you will have a few bad apples. I'm 100% positive that this marine that was involved in the fight at Shady's was at least 50% to blame. I haven't been in a fight since 7th grade, that's about 25 years ago. If you aren't looking for a fight, you can avoid them.

Also, most of the marines I know are HS screw-ups that always seemed to stay in trouble. TIFWIW.
I know of 2 marines and they were both great guys in high school that legitimately wanted to serve for their country. One went through college on the scholarship and then OCS, the other enlisted right out of HS.. so not all are bad. And I'm friends with a marine recruiter. He's offered to let him work me out as I'm losing weight, but I'm askurred

The marines are great for taking rough, bad people and disciplining them, but also instill this horrible overbearing sense of self-worth as if their shite doesn't stink. Most of the military does this but the Marines are the worst about it.
