Love to see for the fans, but Bama schedule most years is mostly little sisters of the poor, LSU, more little sisters, Texas AM more little sisters and Auburn. Admittedly better than say, Ohio State but still nothing like LSU schedule.

But he has to play Tennessee every year.

This.

Our schedule in most years is equivalent to bama adding two more power 5 teams in the regular season. On average we play a better signature ooc opponent+play Florida yearly+we’ve played uga more in the regular season than bama since expansion. Now it’s not always their fault like say Louisville and Florida state flopped after playing them but no business scheduling duke

The fact is Bama has been orchestrating the SEC schedule for decades. They won’t give up the Tenn game and they make the home office spread out their conference games to their advantage

When the SEC first went to 8 games and divisions, we had 2 perma opponents. Bama's were Tennessee and Vandy it also didn't go unnoticed in BR that Florida rotated on their schedule last of the SEC E teams. They currently have won 12 straight over Tenn but Tenn actually won 10 of the 12 before that.

While on occasion they have played a big feature game, they usually schedule a less than physical power 5 school like Duke, Louisville and W Va.

Vintage Saban, schedule name sounding teams that aren't any good Remember when he schedule Michigan and Penn St and both were down? When did he schedule USC? The only 1 i'll give him some credit for FSU and they turned out to be awful

He's being a major hypocrite by calling for better schedules but refusing to schedule better until everyone else does. God forbid he doesn't have an advantage

And do a two game series like LSU does than schools are more than likely to play you
LSU, in recent history, is a much more alluring team to play than Alabama.

How is New Mexico St any different than the cupcakes LSU scheduled? LSU literally played New Mexico St. a few years ago.

To me, this problem is much more easily solved than everyone make it out to be.

People seem to think that we need to somehow manage scheduling more centrally. But the real solution is simple.

There are about 130 D1 schools. That's absurd. There really aren't anything close to that.

So, kick out about 60 of them.

Tell everyone still in D1 that they can only schedule D1 programs. Viola'. Problem solved. (and yes, I know D1 is the legacy term.......sue me).

This year we host GS, NWSt, and Utah State. Come on.

I see your point, but if others do the same and LSU schedules real opponents, it runs the risk of losing etc..

Playing 10 SEC games a year is too insular and may not be workable from a scheduling standpoint, i don't know. I like having Texas, Miami, Oregon on our schedule. We just need fewer NW St. and more quality OOC opponents.

Saban's just covering his arse. Make no mistake about it: he approves every game they schedule. He just wants to deflect the blame.

I’m down. I’d prefer 9 conference games and 3 OOC vs P5, but that’s just nit-picking. I’m absolutely down for eliminating cupcake games against FCS, CUSA, MAC, and Sunbelt teams.

Just curious, could LSU schedule, say Georgia, as a non coference game?

You'd think the conferences or the ncaa would step in a little bit and say we need one of the top three from the acc to play a top-three team from the sec. a top team from the big 10 to play a top team from the big 12.

Or something, something opposite bowl matchups. Those kickoff classic games are cool.

would rather see 9 SEC games, 1 FCS/G5 school, and 2 P5 school games

THIS

-9 SEC schools (eliminate the cross division rival BS so every 4 year player gets to play every SEC school at least once and all but 1 or 2 teams at home and away)

-2 P5 schools (at lease 1 H&H but limit the neutral site games)

-1 FCS/G5 school (instate schools only to help generate revenue smaller schools are unable to)

There is no reason for LSU to play Georgia Southern or Troy imo. Leave that to the Georgia and Alabama schools.

Home-and-home with 3 non-division SEC

So Bama gets Tenessee, Vandy, and Mizzou

LSU will get Georgia, Florida, and maybe SoCar or Kentucky

8 SEC games and play one team from each of the other P5 conferences on a rotating basis. Some years you'd get an Oklahoma and some years a Kansas, but everybody would be in the same boat.

Let the schools pick:

A) 1P5, 3G5
B) 2P5, 2 G5
C) 3P5, 1 FCS

you dont get more worn down by playing better competition. Your fricking ACL does not care if you are playing Utep or Alabama

This is a dumb take. Have you ever played the game? probably not but if you have, you must have been repeatedly concussed

You don't get more worn down playing an Alabama vs Nwstern State? So playing against bigger, stronger players, has no impact on the body? "OK".

Furthermore, do you think starters play more snaps vs Bama than Nwstern state? The answer is YES. Thus, more snaps, vs bigger, stronger, more physical players increases the odds of injury.

Yes, I played the game. And obviously you haven't, or you would know this. It takes more power and more intensity, and more everything to push around a guy that is bigger and stronger.

Just ask the players one question... are they more tired and beat up after GA Southern, or Texas?

This is such nonsense

This is the same argument that was made about having a playoff and expanding the schedule. In the past they played 11 games and a bowl, now teams can play 13-15 games. Is there any evidence of more injuries or “players being worn down, whatever that means

Non sense.....? Is it?

Just how many teams actually play more games under this new format. The answer is 2. TWO. TWO.

FURTHERMORE, both of these teams have had a month off to heal up and rest before having to play their final 2 games, and received 2 extra days rest before the last game.

And generally speaking, teams filled their schedules with lesser opponents in those games than with national powers. Makes a huge difference on the body.

Think about it, how many players did we nearly kill the first week? And tbh, if I were Ga. Southern's coach, I likely would have sat a lot of my more crucial players (like my QB) in the second half to reduce the chances of injury. I mean, what was the point in exposing them to this risk when you have an entire season to play?

Wouldn't that destroy small university athletic programs budgets?
How much is Northwestern making this weekend?
How much on their eleven other games?
