Not a surprise. He showed some glimpses in post season but his overall season was actually a step down.

I hate to lose an experienced arm like Hurd. The stuff was there, someone just needed to get him out of his own way.

I don't think anyone was considering him to be on the roster next year anyway, so this all seems performative.

Yeah, I'll be surprised if he doesn't go pro regardless of where he's drafted, but the fact that he has a "do not contact" makes me wonder.

In theory, that shouldn't matter because regardless of where he is drafted, he'll get a high signing bonus this year than he would even if he was picked 1st round next year.

At what point will there be concern on some of these kids entering the portal?

Nobody expected Hurd back. He's likely going pro. The do not contact is interesting, so he must already have a team chosen.
We've had commits in the transfer portal that committed to LSU, but still signed pro and never came here.

Who has LSU lost to the portal that is worth being upset over? I mean I would like for Moffett and Cam Johnson to have stayed, but they are still not dependable.
