It might be an emotional hedge, but Chambliss is a problem. I have no problem looking like an idiot if LSU wins 30-14.

When LSU wins by 20+ you have to give a shout out to Tiger Droppings on the radio for calling you out.

Didn’t listen today. I wouldn’t be shocked if LSU lost. I would be disappointed if this D gave up 30 though. Yes they haven’t played a real offense yet but their performance so far has been elite against anybody. Elite Ds don’t give up 30+. I have seen LSU defenses bully heisman QBs before.

3 weeks ago I would have picked Ole Miss. I thought with the game being this early in the season there would be just enough home emotion to help OM get a close win. Somewhat similar to a mediocre 2008 LSU team nearly beating #1 Alabama in Saban's return, with this OM team being better than that LSU team.

Then I saw LSU's defense in the first two weeks.

Yes, the competition level is taken into account. But even a declining Clemson is still better than Tennessee St, or Towson, or Charlotte, etc. I would bet La Tech is too. LSU's first team defense didn't just play well. They totally dominated two opponents in a way I can't remember an LSU defense doing in decades...and LSU has had some really good defenses over the years. You're talking about but for a INT in LSU territory, opponents scoring 0 points, getting 3 first downs (one via penalty) total in the better part of 6 quarters of football. Clemson and La Tech couldn't just not score on LSU. They couldn't even maintain possession for more than 3-4 plays on the majority of their possessions. With the 1st team defense in Clemson ran the ball for 7 yards. They threw for 73. Tech wasn't much better.

I don't think LSU shuts out Ole Miss. But I'm confident they will do more than enough to allow a good, though somewhat inconsistent LSU offense at this point, to score enough for a comfortable margin of victory. I've seen Lane have too many good offenses to think the first half vs. Tech will be the "norm".

The offensive line last week was abysmal and we’ve yet to face an offense with a pulse.

It’s at Ole Miss, we know Chambliss is the real deal, and they’re (checks notes) 1.5 point underdogs.

It really isn’t that crazy to pick OM to win.
