If Bryce Neal is taking over the hitting duties, we will get a good indication if Dobson was indeed the problem the last five seasons or so with regard to this offense disappearing in SEC play and postseason.
Of course, with the shape this roster is in and with Oklahoma and Texas on board, there could be a number of times LSU is just overwhelmed by vastly superior pitching.

It will be a middle of the pack sec roster at best, no real power hitters and potentially 3-4 slappers in the lineup…

Bryce Neal was hired last year and he will be the new hitting coach for LSU softball. I think he helped with hitting last season too. The ladies seem to really like him as a coach.

People whining about slappers and the LSU roster don’t know Jack shite about softball. Oklahoma had a slapper. Texas had slappers. Bama slaps….its a huge part of the game still. Transfers, incoming highly ranked recruits, and a strong existing line up…LSU will be top 15 all year long. Will they win it all? Likely not…but it’s possibly. Losing Dobson helps for sure….LSU hitters took too many pitches. Taking pitches too many and trying to hit oppo every at bat has proven to be a bad strategy, but with some tweaks, they can compete with the best.

OU had slappers? Who? Could Boone slap sure but they turned her into hitter just like Jayda Coleman who had 15 hrs. Slapping is being phased out whether you like or not…if you watched in 2002 it was great lol
