Four teams, four divisions - SEC playoff - Think about it. OU, A&M, Ark and LSU on one division, Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss and Miss. State in another division. Missouri, Kentucky, Vandy and Tennessee in another division. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and (add one like Virginia Tech) to the fourth division. Two divisions always face one another with rotating opponents from the other two divisions. Semifinal precursor

Stick with two divisions but eliminate the cross division game.

West:
OU
LSU
aTm
Arky
Ole Miss
State
Mizzou
Kentucky

East:
Bama
Aubie
SC
Vandy
UF
Vols

I'm not sure what Oklahoma's population really has to do with generating dollars for the SEC.
THIS. Your regional TV market doesn't matter when you've built a national brand. Every big name in the SEC is a perfect example of this.

Another Florida team will never be invited to the SEC, and certainly not one that doesn't already hold a name with some weight.

They don't belong culturally. Hell, I'd like to get rid of Arkansas, Mizzou, and A&M on that basis as it is.

If we have to take them before the Big 12 implodes, then we should, but I don't want to be stuck with OK State too. I'd rather have Texas or TCU.

Oklahoma makes up for their low population and small regional market with a national brand name and decades of tradition. They're a blue blood program. Telling Oklahoma "no" would be stupid. It'd build up the SEC (even more) and be a devastating blow to the Big 12.

So true. People are saying that Oklahoma isn't southern, well it's further south than Missouri. No way would I turn down OU.

The SEC would be forced to add Oklahoma State too which is not desireable at all. I don't see the state of Oklahoma allowing OK State to be left behind.

I don't see this ever happening. I would rather add schools from Virginia and North Carolina. Or add Florida State, Clemson, or Georgia Tech. There are to many better options out there than Oklahoma.

I would think that for OU to leave there would have to be a package deal that included Okie-lite

I think OU wants to break the big 12 by saying no to Houston. When it break they may not have to take baby brother with them to new conference.

Exactly! The cultures aren't exact, but it's not like we're discussing USC or Oregon. LOL Oklahoma's culture would mesh well with ours.

This.

But you'd own every household in that state, a lot in Dallas, and the minds of Texas fans.

I think I remember reading last time the discussion started up that OK, OK St are always a packaged deal. We'd have to move auburn and Alabama to the east and move Mizzou back to the West.

WEST

LSU
Ole Miss
Ms St
Arky
Texas A&M
Mizzou
Oklahoma
Ok St

EAST

Alabama
Auburn
Kentucky
Tenn
Florida
Georgia
Vandy
SCar

I agree. I remember that being the case during the last conference expansion. It probably hasn't changed much. Gotta love football and politics! Lol

If this is the case then the SEC has to go "ALL IN" and get Texas

Texas would never join the SEC due to the equal profit shares the conference enjoys. They're too greedy. I also doubt aTm would vote them in. Lol

OU and KU would be a great pair of contiguous adds.

I think OU is a bad deal for LSU honestly

We will get pushed into a SEC West SWC rebirth division, and play east teams once every 100 years

That would certainly help with basketball. I've been to Kansas though, and for those saying that Oklahoma's culture doesn't fit, Kansas' sure as hell doesn't! Lol

I would agree with this. I don't mind OU but no way in hell to Texas.
