How will LSU concessions ever get any better?

The contract with Aramark runs through July 2027 (thanks Aleva and Alexander).
Aramark provides all materials and labor and gives at minimum 45% of GROSS revenue back to LSU.
That goes to show you how much they cut back on labor and push up prices in order for the contract to be profitable.
Crap deal for the fans, but a great deal for LSU. All the university has to do is audit Aramark to make sure the receipts numbers are correct.
Oh yeah, LSU and Aramark can agree in 2027 to extend the deal an additional 10 years....

After tailgating in the parking lot of Tiger Stadium, what foods are you expecting to find inside?

Can we send Aramark to the Pac 12?

Didn’t you already answer the question? Woodward is just going to blame alleva and wait until the contract expires.
After that he’ll fix it, but I’m sure it would cost lsu more to terminate the contract.

I did not answer my question. Why would Woodward ever get out of that sweetheart deal?

That is my question. As it pertains to LSU, how could they get a better money deal. LSU gets money for being LSU.

The answer is that LSU’s concessions will get better after the contract expires, but Woodward isn’t going to lose money in the short run for better hot dogs.
Going to safely assume he’s aware people hate the Aramark situation but he’s not touching the issue until 2027.
So there’s your answer

I would like to be able to get a Coke and Tigerdog at half. Multiple times over the past seasons they have been out of one or both prior half.

Aramark is a dog shite company.

Why wait? Our baseball and WBB teams just won natties, football won the West in year 1 of a new coach… bite the bullet and make the improvement while things are going well.

I gotta think that Woodward will improve it.
He listens to the fan base, he is a fan and he hasn't missed yet

This will never happen. But I think bottles of water should be sold at all LSU events at cost/breakeven. No more $4 "Tiger Water" bottles.
What's that? You're overheated and dehydrated? There's a crusty water fountain 2 sections over, sinks in the bathrooms, or a $4 small bottled water.

What a joke. I know bean counters like Alleva and Alexander probably thought that was super cool from a numbers standpoint but I really don’t buy stadium food anymore and I’d imagine a ton of other people don’t either. LSU would make more money if they contracted someone at 30% who provides an excellent product instead of the dog food and shite service Aramark is throwing at us

Again, only a great deal for LSU if Aramark is selling as many concessions as a superior alternative would, and I can assure you they’re not. There’s also the lost goodwill from a degraded fan experience which counts for something. The whole thing is a clusterfrick and Woodward will definitely get rid of them when their contract expires

I assume the contract is for all sports, most of which don't have a significant tailgating scene. Regardless, It would add to the charm of campus if out of towners were able to come to BR and get some local cuisine while watching a game. You can get nachos anywhere. Let Billy's put up a boudin stand
Also with the rise of TV you have to do something to compete and get fans in seats. Well run concessions would only help

Aramark's labor cost is a bare minimum anyways. They do not pay for the people in the stands. These are groups that work the stands for a percentage of sales. How many people you can bring dictates the size of the stand you are assigned. Now, what usually happens is Organization B says we have 40 people and get assigned one of the largest stands. GameDay comes and only 20 show up. Aramark and concession managers are at the mercy of these groups.

Who in their right minds hands out 10 year contracts?
I'm suspicious of kickbacks when such contracts are given out for such long terms.

Definitively, here’s what will happen: 1)As a public entity, LSU is required to do a RFP (Request for proposal). Companies will submit bids, including their proposed terms. Last time there were 2, yes, 2 bids.
2) LSU will pick the bid that’s best for them.
3) A certain percentage of the population will bitch incessantly about the company that won the bid.

I might be totally alone on this opinion, but at stadiums I value speed and convenience over quality and variety. I’d rather have 5 options of average food that can be pumped out quickly than 20 different options and a long line

But LSU isn't required to request bids for a one size fits all, all inclusive, exclusive, all sports solution. That certainly limits the pool of bidders.
I would think there are countless alternative models that includes auctioning access to individual sections or even individual concession stands Within each stadium/ venue, or even for each event.
While such models would require full-time staff with some measure of talent to organize and oversee things, product will be far superior, and it would allow for more flexibility in an addressing issues of poor service/quality

Problem with Aramark has not merely been a poor product.
There have been epic Aramark threads about selling last year's stale product, morons who can't do the math to make change and move like they are stuck in molasses, overcharges on fans credit cards, running out of product before halftime, etc.
We did not trade quality for efficiency with Aramark
