He won by the greatest margin ever.
Posted on 4/29/22 at 2:38 pm to bigmeat225
OJ Simpson got more votes but nobody, not even Jeaux, could cut and run like that dude.

They need three guys to show up for the ceremony to select the winner. It’s all about showtime even though everyone there knew Burrow would win.

That same majority would probably vote that pussy is also the root of all evil...

Sort of like this board. Someone can post the greatest post in the history of posts and some yahoo will give it a downvote. Just the way it is.

What do you suggest that would eliminate human bias?
At LEAST make voters give a 2nd choice and if their first choice is the lowest vote getter, make their 2nd pic their vote, and don't give them a vote the next year.

Do you guys even hear yourselves? What kind of fascist horse shite is this? You wanna take away someone’s vote for a silly award because they voted of someone you disagreed with and why? Because your guy who won the award by the widest margin ever didn’t win by more

they do.
they also have to give a 3rd choice.
plus every past winner gets the same vote.
and the fans get a vote.
no way in hell will you ever get everyone to agree.
if you polled this website in 2019 and told them they could only vote for people who start in LSU’s offensive backfield in 2019, Joe probably still wouldn’t be unanimous because someone would have thrown Clyde a bone.

Joe wasn’t the first obvious choice. We’ve had guys like Herschel Walker, Cam Newton, and Barry Sanders win it.
BTW, when Herschel won it the next two were John Elway and Eric Dickerson. Buried way back was a QB named Dan Marino! Maybe that one wasn’t so obvious.

Oh frick off, fascist.

Do you really expect 870 people to all agree on something??

Posted on 4/30/22 at 9:32 am to the LSUSaint
Who’s gonna tell him that there were ballots that didn’t have burrow listed at all . Among all of the people they voted for

Marino didn’t have as good a year that year as he did as a Jr the year before, part of the reason he dropped in the draft.
Another good one for you is 1983. Mike Rozier from Nebraska won, he ran for over 2000 yards (at the time only the 2nd RB to get 2K) had 29 TDs. Turner Gill the QB for Nebraska finished 4th he had 11 first place votes. He had fewer yards and TD rushing and passing combined than Rozier. Same team, not nearly as good of stats still got 11 first place votes

Posted on 4/30/22 at 9:49 am to mdomingue
You can't. Tua got a 1st place vote and he finished last in the voting with like less than 30 votes total.

Some people are just assholes.
Because they never even played sports growing up and then they choose a career that have to write about the star athletes and their outcomes. It must suck to have a job and have deep hate that mostly only surfaces when you vote in polls and for awards.
Having said all that, I just went back and looked at those results. I want to know who the 3 fuxks were that voted JB for 3rd place.

Seems like you are projecting your own view of sports reporters on to them. Just making up a narrative because you may disagree on something. It’s really not this hard. Some voters are “biased” or vote for their guy. I would be beyond shocked if Billy Sims wasn’t one of the 12 that voted for Hurts. Some just want to be contrarians, looking at you Joel Klatt others may just have a different opinion. That’s why you have a lot of voters and a consensus
Posted on 4/30/22 at 10:12 am to bigmeat225
It really doesn't matter.
Posted on 4/30/22 at 10:24 am to H-Town Tiger
I didn't mean all of them. A large number/majority of reporters/journalists didn't play sports. Of course people are biased. I'm projecting my image of the media in general, no need to segregate the sports reporters.
My narrative is no different than the narrative you made up.
I agree that is why we need many voters and the process works. There should be a shuffling of voters every so often and their votes shown. This is for awards and popularity polls not political position.

I bet you were wearing your purple coaching shorts pulled up to your nipples playing LSU band mix tapes
Obliviously something I would never spend a second thinking about
