Well, IMO, Lamar should have gotten in.

A local sports radio guy has been suggesting a play-in like the basketball tournament has. Four teams at a neutral location, winner gets that last spot.

How about this? After the last regular season game prior to the conference tournament, identify a group of bubble teams, maybe 8 or 12. Take four of those teams that lose game 1 of their conference tourney, and put them in a play in bracket the weekend of conference tourney championships. For example, if the 5 SEC teams that went 13-17 were on the list, Florida and Bama lost Tuesday and would be eligible for the play in bracket that would finish up yesterday.

Just do a couple 6 team regional brackets and the rest of the regionals can stay at 4 teams

Yep. I’m on the fence here. Having the conference tournament winner auto bid but not the conference winner auto bid seems to be a problem.

Why? Everyone does not need a trophy

Why is that the NCAA's problem? The conference can do what the Big West does and just give the regular season winner its auto-bid.

64 is the right number. You could make an argument that it would be more fun to have 8 regionals of 8 but the currently formula is damn strong. Don’t change it

I agree it’s perfect the way it is. I will say if expansion is on the way, make it play in series of for the 4th seed teams. Thats 32 teams or say your 3 seed bubble teams.
I think the format for a majority of the tournament is perfect.

To reiterate before I get downvoted to hell and back I want it left alone.

Make it play ins for the (at-large only) 3 seeds that were on the bubble… the 4 seed AQs deserve to be in the actual tournament

The basketball tournament suffers from some of the 16 seeds not even feeling like they made the tournament because they got sent to the play in round that exists for no reason whatsoever but to make money

KP then said something like, oh make the first weekend best 2/3.

Just what I always wanted--a 3-game series between #5 seed LSU and #58 seed Central Connecticut State.

There aren't 64 good college baseball teams, let alone 80 or whatever number they come up with.

64 is the best number and the current format is the best way to go

There are 305 teams currently in D1.

Until schools like North Texas, SMU, Tulsa, and Colorado start up programs and the numbers get closer to 350 teams, there is no reason to expand the field.

They should have a series of tournaments for a lot of the less-big teams, giving the winner a shot at the main tournament.

Oh wait, they already have Conference Tournaments with Auto-Bids
