How the hell did Clemson get Radakovich and we end up with Alleva?

Was whoever was in charge unable to see Radakovich's potential when he was here? Did the timing just not work out? Seems like we got the short end of the stick on ADs.

LSU had a bean counter useless President when Alleva was hired. Then he quit and then LSU had no President as Jenkins stepped back in to fill that gap.

I’ve told my story here plenty of times over the years. Dan and I became good friends during his time at LSU through a charity organization my wife and I are involved with. He all but got on his knees and begged for the job when Skip retired. LSU admins didn’t think he could handle running the entire program for whatever reason even though he essentially did it for 2 years. How the frick we ended up Alleva while he was IN THE MIDDLE OF A frickING RAPE COVER UP CASE is beyond me.
