I did not see the game, but I saw a quick highlight of the play. Why didn't they just kick the FG? Why even risk one more play at that point with no timeouts?
By running a play they would have to get everyone back to spike it. I'm just not understanding. To center the FG? Doesn't seem worth the risk at all without a timeout.

Then turned around and tried passing some of the blame during the press conference when that was 100% on him

That's correct. That's why the clock still matters. More reason Jayden has to be aware of the entire situation. He sounded like a buffoon in the presser.
