could someone please tell me how dominant our baseball team really is?

Wait until we play against some good hitting and good pitching.

So far, we look like a typical Florida St. team who pounds everybody they should.

Until we play real competition, we will have to settle for being the early season #1--

I think we win 30 straight before we lose a game. Write that down.

I'll bet you we don't, and you can write that down.

The good thing about slumps is that it's normally a guy here or there......

There are NO holes in this lineup and guy's on the bench that are not too bad either....

This team is VERY good and will get better.....which should be damn scary for the SEC and rest of College Baseball.

I hope you're being faceitious.

Even the best LSU teams in the 90s were regularly 18-12 and 19-11 in teh SEC.

I predict that we'll go anywhere from 16-14 at worst to 19-11 at best.

I agree that the team looks really promising, but I just hate being the front-runner. Being ranked number one and having super high expectations might sound great, but I look at it as there's only one way to go, and that's down. I'd rather be the dark horse and come from nowhere to win it all than have to be leader the whole year.

Looks like a lot of people need grounding. Remember Fresno St last year? How about how good Miami was supposed to be in Omaha.

Saying Omaha or bust is pathetic. Our goal every year should be to reach a super regional. Anything on top of that is just bonus.

Baseball is such a competitive sport between teams that it's very possible to lose 2/3 to a super regional caliber opponent. Thus, saying OMaha or bust is really stupid.

This team has also scored a lot of runs due to errors. How quickly you all forget about the runners LOB that piled up for this team so far this year.

Is this team great? you bet your arse.

Is this team legendary? Not so fast.....let's wait and see.

Do we have a shot at winning the NC? Hell yeah.

Do we have a shot of missing a super regional? definitely

Tigers have a TEAM slugging percentage of .644. Not too shabby.

We're not scoring unearned runs at an unreasonable rate. Last year, 18% of our runs were unearned. Of the runs we allowed, 16% were unearned. College baseball teams allow a lot of unearned runs.

We've scored 15% of our runs as unearned, which is actually less than last year's rate. I don't think this scoring rate of unearned runs is going to change.

It is tough right now to judge how good this team is, but we have scored over 10 runs in every game but one. We have not yet allowed more than five runs. Last night was the first time one of our starters allowed more than one run. This team has the early indications of being completely awesome. Though I do think it is too early to tell. But 20 SEC wins may not be an unrealistic goal.

Give me a break!!! No way does this team only go 2 games above .500 in conf play. That's crap. Though I agree 25 wins is a lot, this team is more likely to win 25 than to lose 14 conf games.

My prediction: 22-8

LIving in fricking dream land.

We have UGA on the road, USC, Ole miss and Arky are not too shabby, Auburn should be much improved, and MSU is always tough.

The SEC isn't a slouch by any means.

The fricking amazing teams in the 90s never went 22-8. I think a 17-13 or 18-12 season is more likely.

16-14 is definitely possible if this team slumps.

It's way too early for a ticker tape parade, but one fact hasn't been mentioned yet. In averaging 12 runs per game, it seems that a lot of this scoring is happening in the early innings, then we (rightly) empty the bench. So if you project how many runs we would have scored if we'd kept our foot on the gas...

You have to remember we played 27 SEC games up until 1995, so winning 17-20 games was a pretty good winning percentage.

1998 - .700, 21-9
1997 - .759, 22-7
1994 - .778, 21-6
1992 - .750, 18-6
1991 - .704, 19-7
1990 - .740, 20-7

.700 of 30 games is 21 wins. Not unrealistic.

No, you're living in a dream, and did you notice that I said that without using any profanity? You should try it; it shows you might be educated.

Never really understood how using profanity shows a lack of education. More times then not, its used to show an expression of feeling. Then again, being educated could also include being open to the fact that there are alot of possibilities (good and bad) for this team.
