It happened in Paul’s last year here but wonder how many times over the last 20-25 years it has occurred

Since 1997 it only happened in 2010 and 2021. Interesting that 2010 was the year just after a championship.

ETA: In 2010, had a streak of 13 losses in 15 games (1-11 in SEC games) with losses to UNO and Tulane.

Ended up going 4-0 in SEC Tourney and then going 1-2 in regional losing to UCLA and UC-Irvine.

That one win against Irvine came in crazy comeback fashion similar to the 08 Super 2 years prior. May have been a walk off, can’t remember.

At that point, I thought we have to be in their heads now.

Then they would eliminate us 2 days later.

UCLA

One of those schools that seems to give LSU as good as it gets from LSU, no matter the sport. And probably as far as non-SEC one that we seem to have seen as much as any in every sport.

The 1991 team won the natty. I think that they started 11-0 in SEC play, took it easy for a while and went like 0-5 against terrible Tennessee and Kentucky squads, and with the conference race now heating up again got their act together and went on a tear and won the SEC title going away, in addition to the national honors.
