GTFO
Any jackwagon that thinks your 3,5,6 hitters going ofer-everything in 2 games is solved by calling a timeout should DIAF or shut the frick up.

Baseball is baseball at some point you have to get a 2 out hit today's game makes me not blame PM for not bunting in the 9th against UCLA even less. We tried small ball today with hit and run multiple times and Fouled pitches off. Not really much could of done differently today. Honestly at this point all the teams are so good it's not much different than MLB baseball where everybody can beat everybody.

So it was PM who told the players not to get hits with RISP? I mean how much do u folks think a baseball manager can do? PM can't make the ump have a normal strike zone. PM can't make Raph not pop out. After so much success including a NC you'd think we could all accept by now that PM knows a little about baseball and didn't forget it all by virtue of being in Nebraska.

hey booty call it is not your job to deem what is acceptable or unacceptable. You are a fan or LSU supporter not a coach. You people all think that you should be the coaches, second-guess Miles second-guess CPM. we're not getting paid to second guess our coachs. If you disagree with what they are doing stop buying your season tickets don't watch the games but I'm really really tired of hearing these fair weather fans bellyache about our coaches they have great winning records and bring prestige and pride why University

Let me get this straight - LSU's team is very talented, but they don't execute. That's not ultimately the head coach's fault?
It depends on what they're not executing. If a guy who has played great defense all year boots the ball? No. That's not the coaches fault. If guys who have averaged 350 all year go 0 for 24? No. That's not the coach's fault either.

.960 fielding boots 2 unearned to give Nola his only loss of the season.
0fer 24 from your 3,5,6 hitters in two games. Players hitting .380, .340 and ?? .320. (and to mention your 5 .340 hitter was .430 last season).
Yeah, coaches sucked those two games. WTF is a coach gunna do? "uh, stop making errors" and "uh, hit better".

Personally, I thought this team was unfocused and not prepared for the big stage. This team had it all, great pitching, good hitters from top to bottom, and great defense . To go 0-2 in Omaha, with this team, is unacceptable. Thoughts?
Thoughts yep absolutely I have some thoughts;
I think you are a douche-bag for starting this thread
Because of your comments I think you really don't know much about baseball.
I think you have not played an inning of baseball other than little league "at best."
I think if you want to talk about "hanging" something on someone, why don't just do us all a favor and hang yourself!!!
I think you should go back to playing with your 14yr old Vietnamese boyfriend and get off the computer!!!

Lost to what appears to me to be the most disciplined and well coached team in the tourney in UCLA and then to the #1 seed. Not a shock really. Never coached baseball so I cant say CPM is to blame.

Thanks. It's called a philosophy. And the great coaches recognize the circumstances under which it will no, or possibly will not work and then adjust to the circumstances. CPM didn't adjust and he and this (our) team paid the price. I se he a terrible coach? No. Is he a great coach? No. Is he a good coach? Yes. Let's hope he's learned something from this experience.

You don't know shite. If you can't get the players you have to execute, then get better players. But it's still up to the coach to get it done one way or the other. That's what they get paid for.

LSU executed all the way to the CWS as #4 seed and #1 in many polls. I'm disappointed too asshat.

The vast majority of time bunting decreases your expected run expectancy.
The vast majority of the time...not all of the time. I'm not usually that big on bunting, but... You coach for the situation you're in at the moment. The UCLA blunder was a biggie.
Also, Bregman looked uncomfortable at the plate most of the series. We could have bunted him with runners on 1st and 3rd today and we hit into a double play. Bunting would have at least made UCLA have to make a decision and likely would have been a much better outcome for LSU.

Captain Hindsight says bunt your .380 hitter. fricking awesome.
ETA: This came off way too harsh, sorry.

Haha...
Look, I'm obviously no baseball genius, but what is wrong with bunting when your big guns ain't gunning? NC bunted the dude that had the only other home run in the series. He did a damn good job of it too. I'm not a big fan of bunting good hitters, but there are times for it.
To me, we made it very easy for NC. We kept swinging away when we had 2-0 counts and their pitchers seemed to be a little nervous. Hell, with that inconsistent ump, I would have been saying don't swing until the 1st strike is called in certain spots. I wanted Bregman to bunt the second he walked up to the plate to make NC actually have to make a play on something and for a likely better outcome. Instead, we got a DP.

Bunting your second best hitter down three in the 7th?!? I would have put a ton of blame on Paul if he pulled that.
Down three with nine outs left, you need base runners. Outs are precious, you do not give them away especially with a .380/.430/.560 hitter up. Sure he hadn't looked great in the CWS, but I would trust a 300+ PA sample over 2 games.

If only we had come across a similar situation like losing by one run, Mason Katz on first base, in the top of the ninth with no outs, and Raph Rhymes batting. I'm certain that if that had happened before, and we had a negative outcome, then CPM would have not let Raph swing away.
I'm not an baseball expert or anything but down 2 would you really consider bunting and giving away an out in the 9th? I will say that RR (especially the last 2-3 at bats) seemed to be pressing and the look on his face made me think he was overwhelmed. I really feel bad for the seniors and in particular RR; he busted his arse to work his way into big time college baseball at LSU and has had an excellent career to have it end that way sucks big time and every LSU fan should be honored that kids love our school and put it all on the line for LSU (even though it doesn't always work out perfectly)!!
