Martin will get a guaranteed contract. About how much, and for how long?
What's the best & worst case $$$ scenarios for Mickey?

Martin is guaranteed a million since he was drafted in the first round. Not sure how long he "has to" be signed for. I guess it depends on how good his agent is. I'm not sure how the 2nd round draft picks get paid. I remember Big Baby Davis got drafted in the 2nd round and got like $600k for year one and since he was on the NBA championship Celtics team his rookie year, his agent got him millions after that. I know the basics about contracts in the NBA. I am sure someone will give you better info than me.
Edit: To answer your original question about best and worst case scenerios for Mickey..... Best case is get paid 6 figures this year and then get a fat million dollar contract extension year two and on. Worst case scenario is for him to get paid less than 6 figures in year one and have a bad year and not get re-signed or picked up by any other NBA teams. Mickey will be fine. He is a quality young man whose potential is great. Look for him to be a millionaire like Martin after his rookie year.

Yeah, I feel that Mickey got drafted by the right team & coach. He's a bit undersized and that's a long schedule. Hope he can hold up.
Martin is NBA ready IMO, but out of the 2 seasons he played at LSU, it seemed that he didn't show up until the last 1/2 of last season. We'll see if the Grizzlies can light a fire under his butt.

Martin's rookie scale is $2.1 mil for 2 years. The contract can be 80-120% of the scale. Last year's 25th pick (Clint Capela) was guaranteed $2.4 mil.
Harder to predict for Mickey, but he landed in a good spot. Last year's 33rd pick (Joe Harris) got a 3 year deal worth $2.7 mil, $1.7 mil of that guaranteed.

Maybe not. Danny Ainge told reporters immediately after the draft that they do not have room on their roster for all 4 draft picks. That's probably not something you want to hear if you're a second round pick without a guaranteed contract.
The Celtics needed a guy like Mickey to help be a rim protector. But it's hard to think he'll stick on the roster ahead of 2 first round picks. Mickey's never been one to show a ton of emotion, but go back and watch he and his family's reaction to getting picked by Boston. There wasn't a whole lot of excitement. Almost as if he knew it wasn't a great situation. Or, it could have just been disappointment of not going in the first round. From all indications Boston liked Mickey through the draft process. I fully believe that they were set to take him at 28 had Hunter not fallen to them. Circumstances just didn't work in Mickey's favor.

Unfortunately without a guaranteed contract, he can be cut, or put in the d-league making not great money.

Yea I don't think martin is near his peak. I think in three years martin will be one hell of a scoring threat in the NBA.

As most no Martin was late to the basketball scene at least relative to his highly recruited peers. Started playing later and got into the AAU scene later than is the norm for a player that was rated as highly as he was coming out of high school.
I can only see him improving.

WTF are you talking about? You might want to tell whomever your getting this information from that they and by extension you are wrong
From the NBA CBA:
"All rookie contracts signed with first round picks have a term of two guaranteed term years with two separate one-year team options for seasons three and four."

Also will not be attending NBA Summer League which I think will set him back a tad.
