What would the odds be in Vegas of a college institution winning a National Championship in Softball, Men's Basketball, Women's basketball, Football and Baseball all during the same academic year ?

Not going to happen. TRant expects perfection in every major sport, every year.

We should be striving for a national championship in every sport we participate in! Beth has constantly fielded a team slightly above average...we gave Nikki Fargas way to many years as we watched her production trend downward.
I think it's time for a change!

That was on weak Joe and lazy Fargas. Watched softball yesterday go from 4-1 lead to 5-4 deficit vs KY and had enough.

I have enough to be pissed off about these days without getting pissed off about softball.

I find significant that the team could not win a single game on this Geaux Teal weekend at home with great home crowds, good weather and all the significance that this event has for Torina who organizes it yearly.

FWIW....I have sent an email request to hire a complete new softball coaching staff. Probably doesn't matter but I at least had to try something. BTW, I sent the email last night BEFORE today's debacle. I actually think she is trying to get canned

Interesting point you make..
I wonder how long is her contract and what the terms of the settlement be if she is let go by LSU before the end …

Found this article

Torina signed an extension that will keep her on board through 2026. Her previous contract paid her $410,000 last season and was set to expire next summer.

Under her new deal, Torina's annual salary will increase to $430,000 through 2024, then reach $455,000 the final two years of the contract. Torina, who has coached the softball team for a decade, will also receive $50,000 every year she remains the head coach through a program longevity clause after another school tried to hire her years ago.

She has security for 4 more years. LSU has plenty of cash to make a change if that’s what they chose to do. She is a great coach and stellar person, I think and hope she gets the team turned around for a post season run.

She and her staff need to recruit some pitchers... and some Louisiana players! There is enough good softball in this state that she does not to continually focus so much on out of state talent! Just my opinion!

If you shut off the California or Texas pipelines, you are going no where fast in softball.

Torina seems to think she can coast like her pal, CLEOHOHOHO.

Heck!!!! Fargas, Rotten O, Mainieri, Miles…..every one, exited with Zero Honor. Maybe, just maybe……this is bouncing around in Torina’s distracted mind.

Versus Kentucky, she made sure to dot all i’s and crossed all t’s…..after all, it was her “Teal Extravaganza”, much more important than tending to the Softball Program. Torina needs a rude awakening, but she may have a tacit agreement to loaf, collect and leap somewhere else.

I am starting to think that MZ Torina is slippery!!

She’s a solid coach but I think she may have lost some of the desire to recruit that she had when she was a younger person without a family. And I get it, it happens and priorities change. Time commitments change. The head person needs to be there and times that’s a challenge for her. At her salary I wouldn’t want to admit these issues either.

Definitely not the answer. California, Texas, even Florida is light years ahead of Louisiana
