Time to focus on recruiting, keeping those guys here to develop, and leave the portal rejects alone. If you can get some true studs from the portal, do it.

I don’t think we have Schmidt next year, but he passed on the draft once already. So I don’t think it’s impossible that he would stay one more year. I guess we’ll see

Doesn't take into account possible guys like:
1. Moore
2. Guidry
3. Sheerin
4. Yamin
5. Noot
6. Garcia
7. Carraway
8. Pearson
9. Rizy
Also doesn't take into account soph or younger like Williams or any of the freshman coming back and getting better.
Also doesn't take into account the coach that has (outside of one year where he was in Omaha, and admittedly focused on winning in Omaha over the portal) dominated the portal and HS recruiting.

huh? you can immediately compete in this era year to year. depends if you hit on some elite transfer and other guys develop.

I have seen fans say this every freaking year. Everybody is constantly losing good players.
LSU could stand an overhaul.
It's exhausting. How did LSU ever win a Championship after all they lost from 2023??? That 2024 team started off bad, but caught fire. They were like a Jake Brown catch from hosting a Super with 2 elite starting pitchers. They would have likely went to the CWS. Then LSU replaced those starting pitchers with 2 other elite starting pitchers (1 transfer and 1 developed) and won it all.

Who are these “best players” you talking about? Because nobody is standing out really on this team. Even our experienced players.
Also getting better players in the portal can make all the difference in the world within one year. And I bet you never expected 2025 to happen after what you seen in the 24 team huh?
