Etling is good enough to get the job done. This QB controversy is over.

I don't think he's looked "uncomfortable" other than Auburn and this past game. In those games, he truly looked like he was cracking under the pressure.

The rest of his career, the issues weren't comfort related. They were a combination of things that prevented him from being successful...most notably his inaccuracy and his inability to quickly and properly determine where the ball SHOULD be thrown.

Maybe "comfortable" isn't the most apt word to describe what I'm seeing in his game. Maybe, tentative is better.

Much like shooting a basketball or hitting a baseball, a QB cannot be unsure. He is. IMO, it's not because he has no talent. It's because he is being asked to play a role that it is unnatural for him. And our play calling does little-to-nothing to get in a rhythm. Just giving him pass attempts or throws isn't it.

If Brandon Harris is going to be our QB, then run an O that he is confident running.

Perhaps his inaccuracy & decision making are related to his comfort level, thus preventing him from success.

You're right. Purdue isn't the Vanderbilt of the Big 10's western division. Vandy doesn't deserve the insult.

On a serious note, before they changed the divisions (in the middle of DE's career), Purdue was in the same division as Ohio State and Wisconsin with a 1-11 2013 record and a recruiting ranking as followed:

2010 - 57
2011 - didn't cross the top 100
2012 - 34 (ironically because Etling was one of the only 2 4-stars they got)

Dude rhythm and scheme have nothing to do with whiffing on easy targets.
I don't think scheme is going to help his accuracy and maybe if he completes some passes they get a rhythm going.
If anything, a spread pass attack has more reads and short passes which are his doom.

Etling didn't seem to need much to get in rhythm, just complete some easy passes, and conversely he was off on some in 2nd half, which took LSU out of "rhythm".

Brandon can't think on the spot, at least not effectively, leave it at that and give Danny the full reigns...thinking overcomes armstrength any day

This guy is pumping for Harris. He's from Shreveport and I can see will dump on Etling any chance he gets. He's not an LSU fan he's a Harris fan. Look dude we all wanted Harris to succeed because it meant LSU succeeds get it. He just hasn't been able to get it done. Some of it is on coaching and I think most of it is on the scheme Miles runs. But you have to put the rest on Brandon he does not perform under pressure.

I can think of only two:
1) State in '14 4th qtr comeback.
2) Last possession before the half vs Arky in '15.

Yep. The only times that came to mind for me.

This isn't a knock on Brandon. Our O doesn't revolve around our QB and there's just very little overlap between his skill-set and our O's strategy. So it's going to be very challenging for him to be comfortable and play with confidence at QB.

This isn't a knock on Brandon Harris, I just think he sucks at QB.

You don't need a strong arm in college and by no means am I saying Etling's arm is not strong because to be honest I think he throws a pretty damn nice pass.

You have to have it between the ears. I will just let it at that.

And to answer your question, Miss St come back game. Other than that no other game really stands out to me.

He completed 60+% of his passes in 5 of 8 sec games last year and was a good runner the first 7 games so he's not as bad as he's shown this year
