I like Oregon's offense... I just feel that these teams that run offenses that are not very traditional, seem to be destroyed when you give a team a while to prepare.

Oregon

Georgia Tech

both get exposed..

Florida runs an offense that isn't very traditional but they had a once in a lifetime player in Tebow, you can see now how effective it can be without a player of his stature.

Obviously I didn't get the hidden message.

it's pretty much a play thread b/c we took their OC and they got a lot better on O while we got worse

plus the whole QB thing makes it even stranger. who knew we'd be so linked to Oregon of all teams?

The SEC is better then the Pac 10.

if stanford, zona, and UO keep it up thats hard to say

the pac10 is real good at the top this year

the SEC doesn't have a complete team as of RIGHT now. LSU actually is the team with the best chance to have a good O and D

Dammit. So you're telling me that Miles passed on 2 of the best spread QBs in the last decade, the other being Pat White? Oh wait, I think that was a different coach..

Its pretty clear UO likes to run up the score. I dont blame them really... anyone who doesnt have an automatic bid to the BCSCG by going undefeated has to do that.

The Pac10 is just weak enough they could beon the outside looking in if the Big 10 and SEC go undefeated. Not to mention a Boise and TCU in the mix.

Pretty much everyone except the SEC teams need style points.

A different coach who wouldn't have Crowton as his OC. Miles and Crowton are bad enough individually. Even worse when you combine their non-matching styles.

their offense is as traditional as it gets. classic option team. thats been around CFB since the 60s

you do know LSU tries to run the spread option, too, right?

meyer has a passing QB and refuses to change his offense. that's on meyer. they won a title with leak at QB

imagine UF with newton

Oregon Bowl Games Since 2005
2005: Lost close to Oklahoma
2006: Lost badly to BYU
2007: Win over South Flordia
2008: Win of Oklahoma State
2009: No Bowl Game
2010: Lost to Ohio State

Looks like any good team they have lost, any bad team they have won. I'm not sure when their current head coach got there, but it still shows that since 2007 they have yet to beat a good team in a bowl game.

The SEC leads the Pac-10 62-39-5 (.608)

Ok so if he started in 2007:

2007(Game played in 2008): Holiday Bowl:
#17 Oregon(10-3)=> 42
#13 Oklahoma State(9-4)=> 31

2008: Do not make a bowl game

2009 (Game played in 2010): Rose Bowl:
#7 Orgeon(10-2)=> 17
#8 Ohio State(10-2)=> 26

Yeah..so they won the Pac 10(good for you).

Wins: USC? Utah? Oregon State?

Losses Boise? Stanford?

I think it serves us better to endure rather than try to exploit. We don't need style points at the end of the year, they really do.

I wonder what happens if Oregon, LSU/AU, Oklahoma, TCU, and Boise all go unbeaten. Not as far as who gets in the ship this year, but will it force a change in the structure of the BCS

All 1AA opponents aren't equal. You have a lot that are crap in comparison to 1A. But top ten could probably play with anyone and McNeese is generally ranked in there each year. We're used to winning. Teams like us always have the potential to beat a good FBS team. App St over Michigan, back when beating Michigan meant something. Jack state over Ole Miss, James Madison over Virginia Tech. The potential is there. The talent is there, and the talent gap is closing every year.

likely UO/OU title with what i'd guess is a 33% shot at LSu/AU getting in over OU

that would depend on the voters

no

"Ole Miss and VT? POWERHOUSES"

Not elite teams, for sure. But didn't VT lose by 3 to Boise and otherwise win the rest of teh their games? You have to give JMU some credit for that one.

Saban passed on Pat White as a QB and White said no thanks when he got a QB offer. Same thing as Miles with the Oregon QB. Miles has flaws, more than most big time coaches, but it's funny to see him get called out on isolated recruiting decisions.
