re: How many Pro Bowls would Chad Jones have if he wouldn’t have got injured?

I didn’t say he started in 08 but he played a lot. He was out of position a lot in the Georgia and Arkansas games. He may have been against Ole Miss also but it was 13 years ago so I can’t remember to that extent. He made a lot of plays, nobody is denying that. Part of it maybe was the 5 star rating and great plays he made in the 07 season (John Parker Wilson sack and fumble for one). But he wasn’t an elite LSU safety by any means. We know what those look like because we’ve had several. The NFL agreed with where they drafted him.

A lot of fools on here, as usual, they call themselves LSU fans, and yet they're always dumping on these great LSU athletes. I wonder why? I mean you wouldn't hear Bama fans dumping on their great athletes like that! Chad Jones was a talented kid playing multiple sports, he was a great athlete like a lot of athletes that LSU get, he doesn't deserve the BS criticism from a lot of you rejects on here. He came to LSU to help Miles and co. try and win another championship even though Miles was a joke at HC.
Jones was big for safety (he was 220 not 230 like some have said on here) and reminded me of Jacoby Stevens in just size, but he moved much better than Stevens. He could have put on a lil more weight and played LB'er, but I think just the opposite of some of you on here because I think the pros could have developed him into an even better safety. I'm not saying he could have been a Sean Taylor who is or was a similar size, but Jones could have played safety in the pros. A lot of LSU players as I have said before moved on to the pros and became much better players because they got better coaching when they got to the pros.

easily a longer, more lucrative and healthier career in baseball. He'd have been set for life.

Delpit was a top 10 pick before injury. we saw flashes of it all 2019 when he was fighting his foot. He was the #6 prospect on Kiper's big board pre-2019.

don't know about y'all, but every time I think about him running down that Texas base runner in the CWS I chuckle!!!
that Texas runner was terrified that Chad was going to knock him down!!!

Agreed. I wouldn’t take jones over Delpit, adams, Landry, or Matheiu who are all playing or played safety at a high level in the nfl.
We don't know what Delpit can do in the NFL yet

He was a good college player. Great athlete but sorely lacked the speed needed to be great in the NFL. Chad may have been able to play LB in the league but would have been slow even at that position.

Chad could have made more money in baseball.

10x or 100x
They would've thrown piles and piles of money at a LH with the legit fastball and pretty filthy slider he had. And he had at least one more pitch and was working on a fourth? Plus he was a hot commodity after the CWS.

Chad Jones was a better tackler than Delpit or Jamal

I watched the games. And I stand by my claim.
And I have zero against any Tiger mentioned in this thread. So many great players.

Might be the most overrated LSU player I can remember.
