How many Pro Bowls would Chad Jones have if he wouldn’t have got injured?

I was looking forward to seeing this young man dominate the league like Jamal Adams is doing.

All of them.

One of the greatest overall athletes I've seen in person.

He could be All-World in about 6 different sports if that's what he wanted to do. Or could have been.

His hit on Joe Adams from Arkansas in the end zone still gives me chills when I see it.

He ran a punt for a TD and made a game saving goal line pass block vs Moo St. His best game ever imo.

His best play is still the JPW strip sack in the 07 Bama game though.

Zero. Chad Jones was a great athlete but had limited upside as a pure safety. He is generally overrated by LSU fans based on his various big plays (few of which involved coverage) and his contributions to the 2009 baseball team.

The safety who followed him as a starter was an upgrade in coverage, not that anyone wants to hear that.

Agreed, doubt he was going to be an elite nfl player. He was okay to slightly above average in college

This is my recollection as well. Great athlete and great tiger but just didn’t have the technique of an elite safety like a Delpit or Laron Landry.

And stupid. He got injured because he was stupid. Outliers aside, being that stupid doesn't usually translate to multiple pro bowls.

Was in the student section for that epic display of power. We went nuts.

I disagree with your recollection.

Chad Jones was a better tackler than Delpit or Jamal or Laron. One of the best tacklers to ever wear purple and gold.

As to how many Pro Bowls? Who knows.

And FTR, it's still just him and Jared who have CWS and CFB rings.

Some friends and I up gave Chad a ride from Walk On’s to a game years back. Kick off was approaching and the dude was late as hell and expected to be on the sidelines, so Chad ran up to the nearest group of guys he could find in the parking lot (us), introduced himself, requested a ride, and pulled out his old student ID as proof. I was like “bro you’re Chad Jones?! we fricking got you, get shotgun”

Real cool guy for the 10 minute impromptu meet and greet. Apparently a buddy of mine had no clue who he was at the time. I was like dude you know the Patrick Peterson windmill? He was the one that was waived on to score. Friend was really pissed off at himself for that one

I think chad Jones would actually fit in the present day nfl better than he would when he was coming out. He’d be a perfect hybrid box safety/off ball linebacker. He can tackle, he has the size to hold up in the box, he can blitz, and he has the length to cover tight ends. He’s not a pure deep safety at the next level, but there’s definitely a place for him in the nfl when he was in his prime.
