How many players have ended career's with bowl game injuries?

With the ever increasing player withdrawal from bowl games (and in some instances quitting during the regular season) the last few years and the "injury chance" that always goes along with the narrative, does a study exist showing the actual chance of career ending injury that goes along with playing in a bowl game?

That running back from Miami is the one that really pops for me.

I remember that now. Seems like this narrative is driven by agents that are over promising benefits to players.

Willis McGahee. He still had a good NFL career but it cost him draft money.
There was a TE from Notre Dame too. I can’t think of his name.

He was still the first RB taken that year.

It’s a risk vs reward thing. If a player decides to go pro in their minds and their agents how much more will playing in a random bowl game help them over the possibility that they could get hurt in said game. Is it a high probability? No but it is probable and one game film doesn’t make or break you as a draft prospect.

One of the TEs from Penn St or Michigan

Jaylon Smith LB for Norte Dame in the fiesta bowl. Didn’t end his career but his draft stock dropped considerably and he was decent in Dallas but never lived up to his pre injury potential.

Correct but he went from a top 5-10 pick to number 23.
At that time that was a big difference in negotiating power because there was no slot value system like there is now.

Doesn’t Allstate donate money to scholarships when they raise the field goal backstop? Since, most of these players are already getting a full ride why don’t they give them injury insurance instead?

I understand the risk/reward, my point is that the risk is so very low that it is almost incalculable.
I remember Lael Collins going from 1st rounder to undrafted over a rumor about an ex girl friend. In other words, anything can happen and quitting on your teammates that have helped you get where you are seems to be a high price to pay for avoiding something that is such a statistical improbability.
The players are just as likely to get hurt in the weight room, driving to work out (Chad Jones). The quitting has risen beyond sensical and has become somewhat of a norm based on zero data.

The one that I always think of is Ohio State QB Johnny Utah. He gots his knee blown out in the Rose Bowl.
Now that I think about it, there was another QB from Ohio State who's career ended in a bowl game. Guy named Shane Falco....I do not specifically remember an injury, but it is suspected he may have had some injury because he ended up throwing 5 interceptions in that Sugar Bowl.

But it is there and there is zero reward for playing in one more game. A guy like Clark and Farrell and TDP have 3+ full seasons of film out there.

Definitely impacted his draft, but still went in the beginning of the second round.
You know what kills a draft stock more than injury? Being questioned by police in a murder(La'el Collins). Youd think these agents would tell these dudes to stay away from their no good cousins and friends from back home.

Like Katrina victims...lol.. That's why the backstops are there. Cheaper than paying claims

And this have nothing to do with each other.
His ex was murdered and he was questioned for it. The BRPD did a terrible job of handling it.

I personally think it’s ridiculous- it’s one more game. I mean there is risk in every game.
