Does this mean people are letting Alleva off the hook?

I wouldn’t say won over, but my concerns are lessened. I still want to see more, and there’s still a lot of growth needed before we consider ourselves elite. I’m not totally convinced by the defense yet, due to the really great job Auburn did of moving them via misdirection. I’m also not sold on the offense.

Those things said, if the lessons that were obvious from this game get addressed, we’re going to be tough.

I thought 7-5 before the season. I’m now looking more at 9-3.

We can still flounder, but we’re tougher than I thought.

He'll never win a championship, but if he can keep getting transfers to make up for complete inability to coach, and takes Aranda hostage forever, he can be good enough to get buttfricked by Alabama and the other anointed teams every year.

But now that I know he'll be the coach forever, because that's our "place," I don't have to give a shite anymore.

See you at the NCAA sanctioning hearings.

A group of 9 went and it was a great, emotional win. As good as it gets. Did this convince me we made the right hire in O end of story....no that would be as foolishly knee jerk as a negative reaction had we missed the field goal and lost.

But I'm happy cause LSU won, and I don't want the guy to fail so I'm happy for him....."frick Dem".

Auburn beat the national champs and the sec champs and national runner up both by double digits at JHS. They don’t get outplayed at home. Somehow we gutted a win out which is huge.

Yeah but..... ugh....Orgeron....

Aranda was hired by Miles.

But if youve thought the team & coach suck all offseason, expect to be called out when you try & hide behind the guise that you expected 10 wins. FOH

once we lucked into Burrow, 10 wins was always possible (and this became even more likely when we got lucky again with Fulton)

we can still lose 3 games and get 10 wins. 10 wins isn't that great of an accomplishment anymore (with the 12 game regular season)

we still had Aranda and our D (even without Fulton it would have been very good, just not possibly insane)

we still had like 4-5 transfers on the path to take over starting spots (again, this is before Burrow)

if we settle for 9-3 as our expected finish every year, then O was a bad hire (just not a spectacular failure)

So you are taking part credit for the hire?

Does "we" mean you and Aleva? ;)

Good hire!

Wow.... What do you want??? 65-0 every game????? a lot of LSU fans are too spoiled.....................

YES!!!

One of the reasons Alabama has won 5 of the past 9 National Champions is because their coach demands perfection from his players whether they're playing Clemson or Middle Upper Valley Tennessee A&M. He refuses to allow his team to settle for "good enough" and is never satisfied with anything less than perfection.

The ole saying "perfect-practice makes perfect" applies to games as well - perfect-games make perfect! Bama knows that. The problem we have is that too many LSU fans will settle for "good enough."

that was actually a really big issue with Miles that O seems to have adopted

the "as long as we win" philosophy works...until you don't win. with Alabama in our division, it's a foolish philosophy

Easy there Blueboy... what if we topple Bama 11/3?

This has always been my biggest concern. Spectacular failure is easy, he gets fired and you move on. But 9-3 “wait til next year” O will be harder to get rid of than 9-3 “wait til next year” Les and Les actually added hardware to the trophy case.

i agree. he's only going to get a mass influx of super transfers so often, though. that's not a sustainable model and he will likely approach that "disaster" area if he doesn't improve as a coach and we can't keep up that model

due to the attrition/recruiting under O, we're pretty thin at some areas (QB, OL, CB). our shiny veneer can easily become cracked, too

i'm very happy we beat Auburn, but i never thought we'd be a 7-5 team after Burrow transferred. the nexus of the meh/OK season that's the concern

This might be my favorite passive aggressive talking point. Transfers are a part of the game now, and every single competent coach takes advantage of them. Filling needs with experienced players as you recognize those needs is being proactive, not reactive. You can’t build your roster on transfers alone, but O hasn’t done that. There really is a free agency season and I commend O for not being reactionary and going and getting two projects on signing day. Would have been instant gradification to grab a fan favorite 3 star, but he put those schollies in his pocket knowing there would be players on the market who could help the team.

Also, Lester posted the graphic you all are glancing over, LSU has played more freshmen than most. Young DL, LBs, WR, and OL are showing up on the highlight reel. It’s lazy and disingenuous to say Orgeron can’t develop just because he hit on two transfers.

It wasn't nothing but negativity all off season ever. And you conveniently ignore the constant spamming by Ree and others that most of the posting was in response to. AT best you're being intellectually dishonest.

How are we thin there? WE have a starting OL suspended & we’ve already played 7-8 different guys on the OL, all getting meaningful snaps.

CB is fine, we’ve rotated 5 guys there & a 6th (Kirklin) who was vying for CB2 job all offseason hasn’t even had to play much, nor the WR who moved over that everyone freaked out about.

How many OL & CB’s do you think we need?
