thread from August
lots of 9-10 win predictions.

and this ain’t the only thread like that.

of course most had the wrong 2 non-Bama losses, but the number is right about where TD picked LSU.

and this ain’t the only thread with these picks.

Had it at -125 o7. Easy money. The disrespect this team was getting at the start of the season was pretty ridiculous.

I was hoping we'd get 8 wins, but the general consensus was O couldn't coach, and even with Fulton and Burrow; losses of Pettigrew, Taylor, Davis and Ingram would hurt.

I believe we exceeded expectations because the players didn't buy into the BS and fought like hell to prove folks wrong.

Well my reply was meant to be sarcastic in return. I didn't believe he took the under as I don't believe anyone here would.

I wonder if they also took the Vegas total of 10.5 for auburn and 9.5 for Miami.....

Ehh. If Miami and auburn actually ended up top 10 teams like most thought 7-5 was a real possibility with this current 9-3 team. They whiffed on their predictions of Miami and auburn more than they whiffed on LSU in my humble opinion

What is the payout on a relatively mundane bet like that anyway?

I couldn't tell you...since I don't gamble anymore.

CSB: when I was a kid, my maternal grandfather was a bookie in Harahan, and I'd hang out with him when I was 6 or 7 in the summer as he'd go from pool hall to bar making collections and going to his safety deposit box dropping off cash! I learned how to play pool at that age playing with those old fricks who my granddad was betting with. I also used to bring football cards to school with me and explain point spreads to classmates in elementary school... But I haven;t placed a bet since I was 15 years old...so my point was that simply because someone didn't bet on the over/under for this year's LSU schedule isn't because they were afraid to lose money. Maybe they just don't gamble.

I did! I actually caught it when it dropped down to 7.

I would have strongly considered 7. 8 seemed like another planet to me in August.

Didn't Vegas also have us as an underdog to UGA

The point is, don't put any stock in what Vega's betting line is as it relates to the state of LSU's football program.

Excuse me, but this doesn't make sense to me. If the objective of the O haters is to trash him, then why would they set the bar so low (6 wins) when we haven't won less than 8 games over the last 18 years. You'd think the objective would be to set the bar very high where the likelihood of achieving it would be slim to none and then let the hate rain on his head

You are giving the message board crowd way too much credit.
Hell, some people in here want Aranda gone. They are too stupid to make fun of

Rabalais was paid off by DP to write this piece, so when LSU goes 9-4 Ed O will look like a coaching savant.

Scott Rabalais of the Advocate predicts 7-5 season for LSU

Nothing but propaganda to lower expectations and make the same results that got Miles fired look like some big achievement.

This is what Prince and O want you to think.

We aren’t losing 5 games. I don’t even think we lose 4. I think we go 9-3 and they will spin it as some big accomplishment because of these 5 loss predictions when in reality we should be a 10-2 team.
