How many fans of the Rant are 60 or over?
and remember well the days of Cholly Mac, Bert Jones, Tyler Lefauci, Warren Capone, Tommy Casonova, and others of the late 60s, early 70s?

I remember all of those.
My first game as a 9-year old was October 25, 1969. 9th ranked LSU 21, 7th ranked Auburn 20.
Buddy Lee pitched to Jimmy Gilbert who threw a halfback pass to Andy Hamilton for a TD on the first play. We sast in the SEZ (I remember because the end zone was painted orange with blue letters.)
Remember riding up Airline Highway from Kenner and pickup up a State Trooper's (who my Dad got the tickets from) son or nephew - whose name escapes me - I think the last name was Tamborello or Tamburella, from LaPlace. We passed the Snake Farm, Hoppers and Bluebirds.
I still have the program from that game. Glen somebody was on the cover. My favorite players were Andy Hamilton, Mike Hillman and Tommy Casanova.
LSU won 9 games in 5 straight years from '69 - '73.

Cholly Mac did Burger King commercials for his Charlie Mac Show on Sunday mornings.

I lived through the Curly Hallman era, so that aged me about 50 years right there.

70, what was the question again?

When I was 8, for the 58 season, I listened on the radio and kept my own statistics, I knew everyone's yardage, tackles, passing %, somewhere I still have those books. MY all time favorite was Jerry Stovall, great ball player and great human being.

Loved that 5-0 game in 1962. And we had beaten them 10-0 3 years earlier. The defense back in those days was every bit as hard hitting and punishing as the popular music was trite and trivial.

I am 55, I started LSU in 1982. Graduated in 1986.

I had Dalton Hillard, Herman Fontenot, and Jeff Wickersham in my classes.

When I first saw Hillard walking around campus, his thighs were crazy huge.. Herman Fontenot was a big WR.

Wickersham looked like the skinny tall nerd guy in High School, LOL

All 3 of these guys could play lights out.

Wickersham surprised me with his toughness. His long hair weighed more than his body..

i am 68, first memory of Tigers is hearing about the Chinese Bandits on the radio. Also won a dollar on the LSU - Arkansas Cotton Bowl 1966. Ark was heavily favored, and I am still waiting for my dollar. Think of the interest

I'm 60. When I was very young my dad used to talk about Joe Labruzza (sp?). He loved that guy. Liked them cuz everyone did but 61-17 against Archie and I was hooked. First game 42-14 win against Colorado. Couldn't talk for a week. Side note: LSU didn't complete a pass that game. My how things change.

I remember the restaurant but not the name. Ate there a lot. Just too much time has passed. Spent a lot of unproductive time(school wise) in the "Chimes Pool Hall" though.
