By the time these guys are hiring LSU WILL be the blue blood
Posted on 2/4/20 at 11:22 am to Pnels08
It'll take a couple of F4s for that strong-assed offer comes.
Posted on 2/4/20 at 11:24 am to TheDeathValley
He won't leave for a lateral move. Only if a blue blood offered, which is what everyone has already said in this thread. Remember we just got a new AD, look for some changes in the next couple years. But those things take time and they need the FBI stuff to kinda fizzle out.
But yeah LSU bball fanbase needs to step up. We're looking at back to back years of being in contention of top 4 seed and back to back SEC championships

If LSU is a sleeping giant in hoops and they do have tradition Wade can win a national title here and that is most likely his ultimate goal.

Do you and chinhoyang have pity parties and whine about Wade’s success to each other? I bet you hold each other ever so gently.

I just want LSU admin to give the basketball program everything they need to be what the football program is. Cant get outbid for Wade one day. Have to be committed to facilities and such for the basketball team.

Money and facilities talk; it is that simple.

LSU is going to need AD support, facility upgrades fan support etc... Wade needs to become LSU's Billy Donnovan or Bruce Pearl. I think the only way he leaves is if a blue blood comes calling(Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas) Woodward is going to have to do his best to keep him happy at LSU.

I guarantee UK will make a run at him when Cal retires. As much as they hate him now.

If LSU continues to compete for the SEC and make the tourney, and the school and fans provide the kind of support that success deserves, then why would he leave?
Posted on 2/4/20 at 12:04 pm to Sandtrap
I see everyone saying only for a blue blood program but no one is mentioning the possibility of an NBA team. We don’t truly know his goals and could move up to the next level someday.

Yeah, Tiger Ree, you are fricking weird

Get Wade the infrastructure he needs to build a program that can consistently go to the tourney. He needs and wants an upgrade to the current practice facility that will contain all basketball operations in one place!
If he gets the support he needs and wants, there are likely very few jobs that he would leave LSU.

I think Wade is stuck at LSU for a long time. A blue blood is not going to come knocking after the FBI scandal.
The way Alleva handled it made this possible. He really was playing 4D chess.
Thank you, Joe!

I agree that there is still a "black cloud" hanging over him, making him not as marketable/desirable as he probably should be.
That aside, I don't think he WANTS to leave LSU or was looking at this as a stepping stone job. He mentioned day 1 that there was no reason LSU couldn't build the same type of program that Donovan built at Florida. He is right. The SEC and LSU have deep enough pockets to build a powerhouse basketball program. It's just a matter of if they truly want to make that commitment. IMO, a lack of commitment would be the only reason he would leave. And unless more comes out of the "FBI scandal", thus forcing LSU to get rid of him, he's in the process of proving worthy of a big commitment from the school.
There is still a lot of season left to play, but right now he is on the verge of accomplishing things with the program that haven't been accomplished in DECADES. If he can win the SEC it would be the first time LSU has won the SEC in back to back years since 1953-1954. If he can get them to the NCAAT, then it would be the first time since 2005 - 06 LSU has made the tournament two straight years.
The most remarkable part of it is that he's done it just 3 years...after taking over a program that had completely bottomed out. He's beginning to prove the success on the court and recruiting trail doesn't look to be sporadic (something Brady couldn't achieve). He's 37 years old. If this continues AND if LSU fully commits to him, the possibility of a 20+ year run of success is not far-fetched

May WW live forever and be HC at LSU til he wants to retire.

He’s very engaged with fans after games. He needs to work on that outside the BR area like dale did. I think if fans can’t get behind this team, I can see him leaving, but he makes good money, and it may depend on family life. How does his wife like BR? Kids? Stuff like that.
