Bregman ceiling is a .300 hitting 2b with 20 steals 10-15 HR and hopefully high OBP. He could be gold glove level at 2h bUT not at ss.

I don't think he ever plays for Houston.

A lot of that will have to do with Altuve really...

I could see him as a .280/.340/.400 type hitter with 10-15 stolen bases and above average defense at the MLB level. Basically a 1-2 war type of player.

Just thinking about it now, but he kinda reminds me of Biggio, even there body types. Solid defense, line drive hitter with some pop, aggressive player, good speed and heady. I know none of that is related to this thread, but just an observation.

D.J. Lemahieu is potentially a good analogy. He was drafted in 09 after the college season, started in the minors after the CWS, spent all of 2010 in the minors, then spent the majority of 2011 in the minors, but got some big league time at the end of the year. So if Bregman follows a similar path, the end of the 2017 season.

They are similar
Biggio listed 5'11" 185 Bregman listed 6'0" 186

Could be, I can't wait to see how he adapts to a wooden bat and a higher level pitching.

Only if he is not playing SS. Correa has been a beast since getting the call up. Altuve, has had some injury issues at 2B though!

why because he was called up early?

Aaron Hill spent 3 years in the minors before the Jays called him up. Jays called him up because, well they stunk and needed to start seeing what the young guys could do. The Astros currently do not stink, so there is no need to rush any prospect that isn't a need position.

The guy has played 158, 152, 148 games the past 3 years...

I hope you aren't counting this as his first year because there is absolutely zero chance he is getting called up in 2015.

No, I would consider this more like Year 0.

Year 1 is first full year in minors.

I compared LeMahieu and Bregman because both are very talented defensively, have a similar work ethic, and were immediately put in meaningful roles as freshmen, so their college time was helpful in their development.

Three years to be up for good but I also think it depends if Correa hits abother growth spurt and gets moved to third. If not it may unfortunately be for another team.

My guess would be about two years. If the Astros are that solid in the middle infield, he could be worth a lot in a trade down the road.

Considering they have Correia and Altuve in the IF it will be awhile for him. They would need someone to get injured, start sucking, or for Breg to change positions

Correa will move to 3rd to allow for Breg to play SS. Correa is 6'4" 215lbs. He's not your prototypical SS frame.

The Astros have no viable option at 3rd. It's nice that Valbuena can hit for power but .185 is embarrassing and Carter's .205 is just slightly less embarrassing. Take your pick at whichever they keep to hit DH.
