lsu peaked in national viewer ratings when they played bama
Yes, LSU has massively decreased in popularity of the past 8 days. Well, they would have to for their ratings to be at A&M levels. LSU has been in, what? Five of the ten highest rated games of the past two seasons? A&M's been in zero. LSU is a perennial national title contender and one of the most powerful programs in the country right now. The idea that A&M is a bigger national draw than A&M runs completely contrary to the evidence.
A&M fans are admittedly fanatic, but does anyone think LSU wouldn't sell out their allotment to a BCS Bowl they have never been to? The ticket thing is a wash, as both schools travel extremely well. The TV isn't even close - it's LSU. And LSU is, sorry Aggie fans, are more popular national brand. If RGIII couldn't get Baylor to the Sugar over a Virginia Tech team that only played one ranked team, and lost to them twice by a combined 80 points, why do you think Johnny Football holds such sway?

LSU does not have as much national appeal as you think.
Beg to differ. Since 2000, only Notre Dame,(which has their on TV network) has appeared in more nationally televised games than LSU. The Tigers typically draw nice T.V ratings and possess a rabid following on the road. That being said, they are a dark horse to get into a BCS bowl this season simply because they are behind three other SEC schools. As noted, Florida would pretty much have to lose to FSU and 'Bama would have to defeat UGA. Cotton or Cap1 likely for the Tigers if they win out.

...i know i'm singing to a swamp full of bayou bengals here at secrant. about the same as the dense house of uga dawgs over at secfanatics. just be prepared to have your bcs bowl bubble busted by johnnie football and texas a&m, because it is a real possibility.

Johnny Football is about as hot a name right now as Mit Romney..........
Dude looked like exactly what he was against us.....and undersized Freshman who couldn't handle SEC speed.
And Its very unlikely because LSU is about 10 percentage points higher than A&M in the BCS rankings and all but assured a top 4 spot in the BCS if the scenerio we think plays out plays out.

I love how A&M wins one big game and they all the sudden believe they are a more premier and attractive brand than LSU.
Same as Friday...they don't.

...i'm not disputing all of that. but, that was then, this is now. there is a big difference in history and currency.

I guess you are smarter than everyone in every fan base because you are an "outsider"

No one in here said it was impossible, rather unprobable.

LSU Played in one of the top 15 highest rated sporting events of 2012.

currency.
LSU played in the highest rated college football game of the 2012 regular season and the highest rated ESPN college football regular season game of 2012.
aTm can claim nothing close to either of these.

No kidding man. This crap might be worse than the Gumps. At least some of the Gumps came in here and told us how awesome the atmosphere was and blah blah blah even if it was fake.
These arrogant bastards think they rule the frickin SEC because that ugly tool beat a completely flat and uninspired Alabama team.
Again, big win for them and not taking anything away. But ONE win. The knock on all of these smaller schools (Boise State, TCU, A&M, etc, etc) is not whether they could win one game. It was whether or not they could do this shite week in and week out over the course of a few years. A&M has had 3 big games this year.
UF - Lost at home 20-17
LSU - Lost at home 24-19
Bama - Won on the road 29-24
A&M is 1-2 in their big SEC games and now all of the sudden they are a powerhouse? Please, let me see you win a few games before you claim to be the most premier name in the SEC.

Just wait until this rivalry kicks into full gear again. We haven't seen shite yet, other than a few butthurt knuckleheads after our game with them.

yes. a&m is what, 1 spot behind lsu?.. the bcs bowls can take a team as low as 16th over any other team ranked highger.

It is only a matter of time before aTm knocks LSU and Bama over the pedestal... They have a helluva lot more money and fan base is drastically larger. And their fan base is comprised of a lot more alum and not band wagon fans like LSU and Bama.... Manziel will play for a NC before he leaves aTm.

How likely is it that TA&M jumps LSU for a BCS spot? Not a chance if we win out. Plus they could lose one more.

__________________________________________________As for the size of the fan base TEXAS >>>>> larger than Louisiana ---- aTm >>>>>> larger than LSU --- yields, aTm has a much larger fan base - not really arguable --- opinion, yes, but a solid fact-based one as previously pointed out.
_______________________________________________
There are a dozen teams in Texas, and most of their fan bases hate each other. 90% of the state would not walk across the street to see A&M play, let alone pay money to travel. Your argument is flawed.
