Just look at the record and the scores of games. LSU can score runs

In 10 of 15 SEC losses, LSU has scored 4 or fewer. In 5 of those 10 games, the opponent scored 6 or fewer. In two of the 6 SEC wins, LSU scored 4 or fewer runs. So, in 12 of 21 SEC games, LSU has scored 4 or fewer.

It is not just pitching. We can't seem to put together good hitting, good pitching, and good fielding in the same game.

LSU has 'throwers'......just a couple of pitchers...that are apparently hurt!

Grayden Harris and Sawyer Pruitt should both be at LSU but no they don't throw 95+.

Jay would rather have guys throwing 95 to the back stop, they missed on these two Studs.

Slight correction.

He's coached 2 NC teams
OSU 2013
LSU 2025

He's coached 4 programs to the CWS
OSU 2013, 2017, 2018
Arizona 2021
A&M 2022
LSU 2025

Yeskie is obviously a good coach. It's also ok to say that this year was bad bc we didn't develop like they should have. Returning pitchers got worse with a few exceptions. But Yeskie isn't the only factor here. There are other coaches who have an effect on the pitching. It will be interesting to see if other staff moves are made.

Yeskie has probably the most imrpressive pitching coach resume out there, but you aren't exactly selling it with those examples.

Anderson is a stud. No arguing there. His freshman year was a comeback from surgery.

Schmidt is not where we all thought he'd be two years in. He looks much better than he did last year, but I wouldn't list him as a big success YET. His ERA is 4.22. Of his 13 starts, he has closed out the 5th only 7 times. Only twice has he completed 6 innings. Schmidt may be our best starter right now, but he wouldn't be a Friday or Saturday guy on the 2024 or 2025 teams. His stats right now are very comparable to where Ty Floyd was in 2023. It's not bad, but did anyone here think his stat line would look like that after 2 years?

Ack was actually more effective in 23 than in 24. His ERA went from 3.52 in 2023 to 5.65 when Yeskie arrived.

Shores came on strong at the end of last year. But he was stud his freshman year before the injury and Yeskie's arrival.

Herring was a beast in 2024 and obviously improved from 23 to 24. But he was no slouch in his freshman year before Yeskie arrived.

It's because this staff can't develop pitchers. If they don't transfer in ready to go, they rarely succeed in this system.

Skenes made major improvements here. Anderson made maybe the biggest one year jump in the history of college baseball. Eyanson improved greatly as the year went on last year. The rant was ready to send him back to HS early in the year and I also remember the rant gave up on the team during the regional. Bunch of cry babies.

I guess Oklahoma has the same sorry coaches then huh? Cause Cam hasn’t gotten a bit better at OU either.

I wasn’t trying to vindicate Yeskie who is a cog in a machine run by CJJ.

Grayden Harris was throwing like 85 in the prime of his recruiting time line.

Just not true at all.

And Zion Theophilus' ERA against UGA = 0. Who gives a shite.

ETA: You clearly have some relationship to Pruitt. Give me a call when he's starting games in the Sun Belt again, something he lost of the privilege of doing after underperforming.

Grayden Harris

Speaking of him thought this was interesting.

Back in 2024 class we took Cam Caminiti and Boston Bateman as our only 2 LHP commits. We lost both to the draft. After that happened Jay flipped Cooper Williams from A&M since they went through the coaching change so we got very lucky there at the time.

It is a shame we decided not to pursue Harris because we really really could have used a solid lefty in hindsight. Cooper unfortunately has seemingly just fallen apart.

Seems Grayden touches 94 now and sits 91-93 typically which is fine from the left side.

Southern Miss got on him super early, it was still during the time when you could offer guys as freshmen. We also had cut a kid loose from the same HS around the same time too, so that could have played into any relationship there.
