She would have been fired last year if the team didn't do remarkably better than the 2015 campaign
Nikki had a great rep coming into LSU. It's a shame she never put the same level of effort into recruiting/coaching at LSU as she did when she earned her way to an SEC job.

You people really don't like black basketball coaches, do you?

But at what cost? There's not much, if any, ROI in womens' sports. LSU could probably go out and offer UConn's coach (can't spell his last name) double what he is making at UConn and bring him to LSU. But would that be a great investment? How much money does he bring in even leading the most dominant womens' program in the nation?
I don't have an issue with LSU changing coaches if Caldwell is not getting it done. But I do have an issue if they spend lavishly on a womens' basketball coach and then ask football, mens basketball and baseball ticket holders to unnecessarily pick up the tab. That's not being sexist. That's just punishing your most in-demand sports and consumers of those products by asking them to pay more to fund a bad business investment.

Gino wouldn’t come to LSU if you offered him double what he’s making at UConn

Cool. I’m assuming that you’re a brokedick sidewalk fan who doesn’t contribute any money to the university or hold season tickets. I wouldn’t care either if I was in your position

Probably because women's basketball is tWOAT sport

LSU is going with the gymnastics model on this one.
Nikki has 50 years to win her first SEC title. If after 55 she doesn't have one they MAY consider making a change.

yep, and after 6+ years it's not likely to change...LSU will support a team that wins (see gymnastics the past few years) and negative ROI is NOT the issue, you can agree or disagree with title IX, but it is a fact..so why not win? And WBB is by far the most visible sport for women if we win..see our 5 final fours! You think UCONN and Tenn have not benefited from their WBB all over their University? Oh, and Miss St finished top 3 last year and is 20-0 this year...so it does not take that much to at least win (although there is only one Geno..)

Title IX Gender Equity....we stop giving a sheet about teams that under perform regardless of their plumbing...all the same

I ain't trying to get banned but I once heard a rumor of our WBB coach and our AD having extra curriculars

She is, without a doubt, the biggest waste of money I’ve ever seen involved with LSU athletics.

Exactly!
ROI is not even in the discussion. If it were, then we'd be talking about professional sports. College sports is not about ROI. If it were, there woulnd't be a demand by the NCAA for Div I teams to field 14 sports...................12 of which NEVER make a profit. So, why not strive to be the best?

She was in the final four every year that she was head coach. So long as all that stuff was consensual, I don't see a problem with bringing her back.
What do they pay coaches in the wnba? You'd think Aueriema would have left by now if it was substantial right?

Who exactly are you referring to? The guy who’s getting paid half of what most SEC coaches make to win 9 games? I hate the Orgeron hire, solely because it was a money saver hire. Not exactly a “waste of money” in the Caldwell/Fargas sense. Again, Caldwell’s contract is literally the WBB equivalent of paying O more than Saban for 6 years straight no matter how shitty it gets

She won 90% of her games as a college head coach, and took us to 3 (Starkey coached 4th, Van 5th) final fours, was an AA player and yet NO college has hired her in 10 years...so you might want to understand that it was NOT all consensual, it involved many players and coaches and she will never coach in NCAA again...Think about it-10 years and not a sniff...so it was a VERY major list of many wrongdoings..over many years...

I love Nikki, hell I loved Johnny too. Johnny got his shot it was time, probably even a year too late as it was obvious there was no coming back from the meltdown the Simmons year.
Nikki....again, I think she can coach. But you gotta get players, she ain't doing it. This sport can make a little money if we win. She's not winning enough, especially considering we're less that 10 years removed form going to 5 straight Final Fours.
