Precisely.

No athlete is getting $13 million.

I'd think the majority of deals are far far less than what is reported.

I can tell you with certainty that I know of a two year starter (with two years remaining of eligibility) at one group of 5 school that transferred to another group of school and had his choice of three options in the portal and all of them had $50k cash offers

NIL is the smokescreen but the amount of money flowing off the books right now would blow people's minds.

So you what you are saying is that you’re just as clueless as Moscone is.

There isn’t just one collective and the collectives don’t include some of the most active private donors.

None of the above include the traditional NIL sponsorships that the school has also been supplementing guys across the roster with. They also help them with branding and making NIL money on their own. These two avenues work well for players who aren’t stats make money from companies and individuals who want to support the team.

Okay, you guys are dumb.

1.) Rashada isn't getting 13 million and never did. If you believe those claims you're dumb and naive. No recruit gets anything close that. Not even generational recruits like Patrick Peterson or Perkins

2.) That's the public collective you're talking about. There's money still coming in from places you don't know about like boosters.

3.) If our collective was that poor we'd be getting absolutely ravaged in HS recruiting and the portal.

Jesus I wonder if some of you even think sometimes. Use your common sense. LSU has the top rated portal ranking right now and a top 5 HS recruiting class. If they had only 2 million to throw out there we'd be getting slaughtered and they sure as hell wouldn't be able to dominate in other sports like baseball which is full of spoils right now.

I agree with a lot of what you say. However, the Rashsada deal is possibly still legit when framed in the right context.

First, UF was supposed to have C McClain in the bag and he flipped to Miami for a bigger bag (and then bailed on them and left their staff in his driveway to go to Colorado and sign with them, which is hilarious). Someone probably promised to overpay Rashada to avoid another head to head lost to the Canes.

Second, that $13 mil would be spread out over 4-5 years, likely backloaded in case he left early for the pros, and would have some performance conditions tied to it. The minimum could be something like a third of that total. That’s still high for a QB with a mid 4 star ranking, but again, someone associated with UF was tired of losing recruits to Miami.

A few different college football podcasts have said one or a group of UF boosters probably went of the reservation making the promise of that deal, but then the main UF Collective cancelled it (In writing in a letter to Rashsada. This has been confirmed) because they likely didn’t agree with either the amount or the terms. If anything, this makes me believe the amount was real and that’s why the collective balked.

This board is convinced Rashada by himself who's anything but a generational QB is getting over 6x LSU's entire NIL collective and close to 1st round NFL pick money. The same university who has a struggling NIL collective and booster support while LSU is one of the few universities with a top 5 portal and top 5 HS recruiting class. As a whole in athletics LSU is probably one of the healthiest universities in the country on NIL. Look at their baseball team. It's cheaper than football but look who they basically got to come it. It's an embarrassment of riches.

It's tRant though so I'm not surprised.

I’ve heard from enough legit guys to believe the $13 million for Rashada was legit. Doesn’t mean Florida had the funds to back it up(obviously they didn’t), but there’s some truth there.

Either UF has it and just reneged or there was a miscommunication or they were just bullshitting. I’m glad it’s sorted out though because it makes UF look like dogshit and Rashada is a good kid being steered by shithead parents, from what I’ve heard.

MM is a good dude, but he doesn’t know the inter workings of the NIL system like he thinks he does. I knew he was off when he said that.

And that's why he's backing out because that's a ridiculous amount of money no university is going to pay a recruit. Florida's entire NIL situation is a complete mess and half the boosters don't like Napier already.

A few talking heads are saying that what happened with Rashada is happening "everywhere, all the time", it's just the amount involved that has caught the public's attention. Kiffen said, last year, that he was approached by a recruit who told him how much his highest offer was & asked would Kiffen beat it. Kiffen told him to go take that offer. Not exactly the same but similar in attitude.
