Kenpom is 22. BPI is 15. NET is 21
When we beat UA-Tuscaloosa on Tuesday I guess we get ranked

Don't get your hopes up that we'll be ranked.
We could be ranked in the top 10 and an Alabama loss would throw us out but the Kentuckys and Kansas and UNCs of the world could have 3 straight awful losses and still be ranked

The hate for will wade is strong. There are going to be a lot of mad soy boys when wade is cutting the nets down in Indy

LSU is ranked where it matters.

Everyone hates Will Wade. LSU will have to have the me against the world mentality because there’s going to be a lot of hating on them and WW for a while

Because LSU bouncey ball is irrelevant.

NET is all that matters. Keep winning and we’ll be fine

I don't get posts like these. There are several LSU sports that I don't follow or care about, but I don't feel the need to post in threads about said sports to tell everyone I don't care. Just bizarre.

LSU Basketball is certainly more relevant this year than that disastrous football season we just had

This week’s rankings aren’t out yet, Margaret Thatcher
They probably won’t be ranked but they’ll be closer
A 2-0 week with wins over Alabama and Kentucky and LSU will be ranked next Monday.

All that matters is the NET

As long as LSU continues to win, ranking is not that important.
I do agree that many of the sports pundits seem to have some bias against LSU. It seems like they couldn't wait to try to find a season to override last year's LSU season as being "the greatest" of all time.
If the basketball team keeps winning, the ranking will come.

This doesn’t matter at this point. If they keep playing we’ll talk to me in a month.....

I don't think this week's rankings have come out yet.
Objectively you could say it is because LSU doesn't really have any great wins thus far. The Arkansas win was impressive. But it was lessened once Alabama pounded them on Saturday.
The good news is that college basketball rankings are WHOLLY irrelevant. The NET is the only "ranking" that matters along with the objectively based "metric" ratings such as KenPom and BPI. There, LSU is MORE than fine. Which is ALL that matters.
Alabama has been the most impressive team in the SEC thus far. Even moreso than Tennessee...who Alabama beat...on Tennessee's home court. The Tigers have a huge opportunity tomorrow and this week. Beat Alabama, then the arguments against LSU being the top team in the SEC become very quiet. After that, they go to Rupp. No, this isn't one of Kentucky's better teams (far from it). But the "name" is still there and a win will get recognition.

Wtf is this? LSU raised the bar on what it takes to have the best season ever. Every great college football season for a long time will be compared to LSU. That isn't a negative, that's a huge honor. It's not the media trying to "find a season to override" last season. When you want to talk about all time great seasons in college football, the conversation has to have LSU involved.
Edit: disregard my post. I just noticed who I was replying to. You can't say the national media seems to have a bias towards LSU, when you have shown a strong anti LSU bias yourself. frick off.

Besides, we're still early in the conference schedule. Just keep winning, that's all that matters.
And the only "ranking" that matters is where we stand in the SEC standings and the Selection Committee's seeding at year-end (and the NET rankings, because they're metric-based and objective, not subjective like silly media voter polls).

I disagree. You get relegated to the SECN if you aren’t in the top 25. You never make sportscenter, halftime highlights, post game highlights unless you are top 25.
Now Wade has shown that he can still recruit regardless but being in the top 25 is HUGE in regards to program exposure.
It goes along the lines of the CFB playoff. If you are in contention for the CFB then you are constantly talked about which impacts your ability to recruit which impacts your ability to make the CFP. Not nearly as bad given roster sizes but still is a big deal.

LSU is playing on ESPN/ESPN2 in eight of the remaining 12 games. Many times the broadcast channels for the games are decided before the season.

In days past that probably mattered a lot. Now, with every game on TV, not so much. The exposure is borne from March. Be a consistent player there and the exposure comes with it.
I think you're applying a football mentality...where rankings has ALWAYS been important to basketball where they aren't nearly as important. Even teams "ranked" in the 30's or 40's can get into the playoffs (NCAAT) where no one can ignore them. The human rankings aren't even considered by the selection committee.

You better tell ESPN then because the only games on 1 or 2 per their own website is Bama and UK
Also your “everyone is on TV” loses merit when we recruit nationally but we are on what amounts to a regional network in SECN. Do you ever watch the Big Ten Network?
