Ar-Kansas focused on taking away the short routes. Combine that with the oline letting defenders through, you get that kind of game for Daniels.

If he wasn't sick with something, LSU may not score against UGA.

It’s no secret he’s not a good passer.

Arkansas sold out to make sure he didn’t beat them with his feet, it was a good game plan.

What worries me the most is that if Arkansas did such a good job, what do you think UGA is going to do?

They said on the radio after the game that he had flu like symptoms

Early in the game one of the trainers was giving him pills on the bench … no doubt we wasn’t 100%. Definitely wasn’t as elusive as he’s been in previous games. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt rather than revert to bashing him like several in this thread. SEC West Champions.

This was a classic letdown spot. We've all watched football for years I assume. All of the conditions pointed to letdown yet some of you are still surprised that it happened.

Sometimes players and teams play down to the competition after huge wins. I wouldn't look anything more into it. If they're struggling with UAB then there's cause for concern but this team has been trending in the right direction for weeks now. Every team that wants to win a championship is going to have to win an ugly game or two.

O line was bad in protection, they kept running different blitz packages we had no answer for, staff will review this tape well and make necessary adjustments.

Arkansas schemed him well.

They've practiced all year long against KJ Jefferson, so they had a good start at shutting down his scrambles. Not only were they ready in concept, they were used to the speed.
So they applied that, and then did a good job of scouting our WR routes and tendencies, and shut that down. They took Daniels out of the game, which is what gave them a chance.

You could tell they decided to concede the run with our backs. Williams had 122 yds on 19 carries, but it wasn't just him... Emery had 40 on 3,and Cain (who's not explosive) had 25 on 5. If we had pounded the run all game (which hasn't been our gameplan), we probably coast to an easy win.

Most QBs don't get sacked 7 times in a game. Our blocking/blitz pickup was awful.

At times it was but there were times when held the ball too long.

1. Barry Odom is a very good DC and he out-schemed Denbrock most of the day. JD can only run the plays called.
2. JD did not have a good day at all and made some poor decisions. They dropped 8 at times and he seemed confused.
3. O-Line did not handle the stunts and blitzes well (see, No. 1, above);
4. Hangover game at 11:00 am on the road, with snow that morning was not ideal. Arky's QBs didn't exactly put on a coaching clinic...

Those Arky LBs made JD beat them through the air. They had him locked down pretty good.

He really needs to stay another year, no way he’s NFL ready now.

It seemed like every pass play we called were these slow, long developing plays where the pocket just eventually collapsed.
This!
A couple of sacks were filmed from the backfield. Each time, our receivers were midroute with their backs to JD, and the Arkansas D-line was already tackling him. We had no safety valves. No draws. No screens. No quick spot passes. And no second half adjustments.

We seemed to be running man routes against zone D. Now maybe that's on Daniels to check out of. But in a noisy environment, I'd think most of those checks would come from the sideline.

IMO, as good as he's been at bringing the offense along every game, Denbrock just didn't bring his A-game to this one.

But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I suspect this performance will help LSU with its next three.

I think the heavy pressure on him all day long helped the poor performance, that and a couple drops on 3rd down that would have extended drives.

Mix in the fact that this was R-Kansas playoff game.

His performance sent a chill through Tiger Nation. If zombie JD5 returns, LSU may lose to 4&8 and will get rolled by UGA.

Piss off this is spot on. He didn’t play great yesterday but the O-line (especially the middle) didn’t do him any favors and neither did the coaches with the play calling. How about recognize this kid for his part in getting us to the SECCG when we were picked behind at least 4 other teams in the west by most everyone?
