It's odd, but it's RPI. I hate the subjectiveness of NCAAB, it's like damn figure skating until the tournament starts.

That said, we match up well with some SEC teams, so a lucky SEC tourney draw and we could run that thing. If we hit bama or Auburn on the way, it probably won't end well. But if we let other teams beat them, we could work through the A&M, UK, Arky, and Miss schools slate. Potentially.

Yea, wins over Alcorn St, Tenn-martin and Samford don't help a whit. Of course it would have been worse had we lost to one of these, but still...

That has nothing to do with what i said. Since you're having a hard time understanding, I'll try to put it in a way you can understand. Compare the 2 non-conference schedules based on espn rpi.

Top 50
A&m has 3 wins, 2 losses
Lsu has 2 wins.

51-100
A&m has 2 wins
Lsu has 2 losses

101-150
A&m has 2 wins
Lsu 1 win, 1 loss

200-250
A&m has 2 wins
Lsu has 2 wins

250+
A&m has 2 wins
Lsu has 4 wins

Like i said, A&m having losses to top 50 teams is a whole lot better than wins vs bottom 250 teams. Our adminstration has to get off their asses and stop being so lazy with our non-conference scheduling.

They played a tough OOC schedule and they beat Okie St. from the revered Big 12 (that the SEC beat in the challenge by the way) and Oklahoma.

I can remember in 2004 Bama and LSU both finished 8-8 and we swept Bama that year cause Brady like every coach since Dale played a shite non-conference schedule and Bama didn't. That Bama team by the way went farther than any Bama team ever in the post-season, to the Elite 8.

It is the one thing I hope Wade will do in time... Up our OOC SOS.

can't remember ever playing a good tough ooc schedule in this millennium

Skip put some pressure on Brady in 2005-06 to upgrade his schedule after that 2004 deal and he did. In 2005-2006 we played the toughest OOC schedule we had in 10 year, at No. 1 UCONN, at Ohio St. a Vegas Tourney where we Cincy, and more I can't remember. And it paid off IMHO..we ran away with the SEC and went to the Final Four.

I hope WW upgrades as well.

We got skull drug in that OSU game, I remember it because we were coming home from skiing up in North Ohio and decided to buy last minute tickets, we had fun despite the loss.

But yeah, forgot about that, that was the only half decent one, hope to see more like that moving forward

Honestly I agree with him.

Make the dance, play Duke or Villanova first round and get bounced or go to NIT, win a couple games maybe, get some postseason experience.

People are so confusing, with the whole “lulz tourney appearance” mindset. Would be a different story if we were gonna be an 8 or 9 seed win a chance to advance.

Actually we took them to the wire and actually had a lead late but for some reason had Voogd in for a key stretch, may have been someone else in foul trouble (that team had little depth)we lost by 2....really had an opportunity to beat both them and UCONN on the road.

We also beat a No. 13 West Virginia on the road when they were honoring Jerry West that year.

Maybe it wasn't that one I went to then?

I just remember the game not being close (could also be misremembering)

I guess state politics plays a role in our scheduling the in state teams.

identical conference records and we beat them twice head to head and they have the inside track ..... That's my line of thinking

If this was all there was to it you’d have a point, but it’s not, so you don’t.

I mis-remember all the time, but I remember that one. The UCONN loss was even more gut-wrenching. That way Tyrus Thomas's coming out party and we really out-played the then No. 1 team in Storrs, but had a lot of frosh playing and couldn't quite close it out at the end, lost 67-66.
