You shouldn't. He isn't the same type of hire. The goal was that Ed was valuable because we could win now with a coach who wouldn't meddle, and would hire the best coordinators and let them coach. Not that he needed 3 years to rebuild his program or install HIS program.
O and the reason we hired him are not similar to most coaching hires (outside of your Larry Cokers), therefore, he doesn't get as big of a buffer and big results have to come immediately. That's the disconnect. Hiring Ed was not the same as hiring another coach who would be installing a program.
how anyone sees it different is beyond me. ed Oregon's head coaching career is built on bad coaching and bad losses. 2017 didn't change that.
we played 1 p5 program with less than 4 losses and still lost 4 games

Same results record wise for half the price.
the greatest coaching season of O's career is one game better than miles worst year ever at lsu.

But it’s still better and the same as the last two seasons of Miles
LSU got what it wanted. Go cheap and go home.

The hell you talking about - Miles was 2-2 his last season
19-10 his final 3 seasons.
Orgeron is getting the same record for half the price. That’s simply a fact.
That’s how bad Miles was at the end.

Well, he was a "continuity" hire. How often do you see a coach fired and then 90% of his staff remain in place? Continuity hires usually happen when a successful coach retires, and even then they rarely work.

It's the epitome of denial to lose cognitive function.

I’m not an O lover. I just know how math works.
Orgeron’s Winning Percentage versus Miles final three seasons.
71.4% > 65.5%

s moot because your boy O fired his hand picked offensive coordinator after 1 season. How many times do we have to go through this, Ensminger did not WANT to be offensive coordinator, even under Miles. After Canada was fired, no one wanted this job, not even Ensminger. Coach O had to talk him into it.
so how does that make the point moot? He wanted amore modern offense and now he's got it.

we had to move on from Miles, that wasn't debatable. Did we select the right guy..... it's not appearing that way but Miles with his yearly top10 or even 5 classes yielded the same product that seemed to be stuck on 9 wins and "if you're not getting better, you're getting worse" so we moved on.
with that said.... this coming season with the schedule we have....

I love the argument that the team rebounded from the Troy loss as a positive, when O was literally the reason they lost to Troy in the first place.

So we now have a more modern offense by hiring an offensive coordinator who hasn't been an offensive coordinator in 20 years?

Does he? Have you seen it? Because it's not like a coach has ever said something before only to have it turn out to be untrue.
Why didn't he go out and get his more modern offense before last season?
Posted on 2/8/18 at 9:11 am to Mayhawman
Those tens wins in 2015 included being 7-0 and ranked # 2 in the BCS standings before completely falling apart..... but dont let facts get in your way while trying to praise Miles....

He actually did. But he fired him because he didn't like him and he wanted to play a different QB, for an OC that hasn't been a OC in two decades.
So now we have a career D-Line coach as head coach.
And a career TE coach as offensive coordinator.
We need to "hope and pray" Dave Aranda doesn't leave.

I must have missed the last 9 games of the 2016 season..... the offense looked pretty good except for the Bama game.....
