Ensminger has been coaching a long time and has been a OC like 5 times. He was one of the first OC's to use the Spread. He played QB for 4 years and do not sell him short.

He isn't and never will be.

It's sad O got this gig.

With O i don't feel like there is one thing that would help turn him around. He is just in over his head.

Yup, even with Miles refusing to adapt on offense, he still ran a far superior program to O.

At the time Miles left, yes. There's a reason he was fired.
Orgeron isn't even in the discussion.

When you put the 2nd half of Miles tenure on paper and compare it to the "GOAT" tenure, your statement looks pretty dumb Roger.

Obviously Coach Lying Ed is a failure but that doesn't mean that Les shouldn't have been fired.

Yes, but for all intents and purposes, he was fired to hire O. It’s asinine when you think about it.

He hasn't and will not prove that he is better than Miles. This was a horrible hire and everyone involved in it should be shown the door.

I don't think Les ever lost to Troy.

Now that signing day is over, we have seen he isn't even an improvement over Miles in recruiting.

c'mon. we lost Surtain. no more or no less. other than that this class met needs more than Miles LATER CLASSES did.

to answer your question, so far Orgeron is only an improvement from Miles last full year and partial in '16. it is still in doubt whether he will be the improvement we all hoped.

sorry, the sky is not falling. Orgeron is gonna win some and lose some in recruiting. when you are surrounded by Saban, Fisher, Herman and Sweeny you have a tough row to hoe.

there is no magic in football coaching. you don't hire one and just discard them a year later and then try again. the financials do not allow that. and each coaching search is a secret and the details are just not available to us peons. so people are free to make up stuff based on their bias and "feelings" and it becomes a contest to see which liar can attract the most sheep to follow him. soon after, the rumor becomes "fact".

Well the obvious answer is he is willing to run a modern football offense where Miles wasn't. He doesn't believe in "imposing your will" on the defense. That is it. There is your answer

That modern offense scored less ppg than 10 of Miles 11 offenses.
How's that for progress?

Has kept 2 teams motivated after bama loses instead of mailing it in for the year as Miles did with loses to Arkansas.

Those were COMPLETELY different Arky teams or worse than TAMu. The only tougher defense he has coached against in November is UF in 2016. Everyone outside of Bama was a cupcake and this is when Bama was down last season on defense.

I don’t think it’s that people are saying he’s the man for the job. I see it more as wanting to support LSU no matter what.

exactly. You should give him the courtesy you would any new coach. even if you don't like the hire, no hire is a sure thing. You would have to wait and see how it works out on any coach. If it was Fedora here instead of Coach O we would still be in a wait and see period.

It did pretty good under Ensminger until he hired Canada. I still liked Canadas offense better than Camerons/MIles. Finally someone who understands the importance of a passing game.

I also forgot about how he kept the team motivated after the Bama loss something Miles never could do. The team still played gritty and tough after the Bama loss something it never did after Miles when the team would just give up every year. In fact it was a pretty gritty bunch starting with right after the Troy loss. Liked the attitude of the team.

OM was pretty damn good also, so no honesty in comparing '15 to '16 and '17.
Certainly better than Troy and at least par with MSU.
The DP damage control crew is failing.
