Why can't we get guys like Leon Landry, Jared Mitchell, Chad Jones, or Mikey Mahtook, anymore? Guys that played multiple sports in high school extremely athletic and have pop in there bats all had damn good arms too.

You're getting one next year in Jake Slaughter. 6'2-3" 200+ and scored 35 TDs I believe his junior year for OCS at WR. Won state in football and baseball. Sat out senior year to focus on baseball.

So you just want 5 tool players? I'm sure Mainieri agrees.

Coastal Carolina has a lineup full of guys that hit for average, hit homers, and steal bases. We have some guys in our lineup that can't do any of those.

Our pitching has been lights out for the last 3-4 weeks. That's was the time frame in the discussion.
I agree there. I thought you were talking over the season. We've won most of our games lately due to our pitching. My b.

Except we had al those guys on one roster the same year. And I see Florida and Vanderbilt have guys similiar to those types of players yearly

Florida still has never won a national title.

Since 2009, Vandy has 1 national title and 2 SEC titles. LSU has 1 national title and 3 SEC titles.

5 tool? Stop it. He fit a mold that we must have went away from. Guys that can run and have power are not hard to find. We are a national power. We have dropped the effing ball when it comes to this period.

Bregman, Cade S, Stevenson, Frsley, Laird and the others weren't shabby.

They're not. Which is why the MLB guys find them too.

Antoine Duplantis is pretty much the definition of athletic

While that's true, he's just not much a power hitting guy.

Mahtook is projected to play centerfield and been regarded by many baseball scouts as being a 5 tool player with great arm strength for a centerfielder.

quote:

Skill Set: Mahtook is a true 5-tool player who plays a premium position. While he has played both right field and center in college, his great speed and athleticism will allow him to stick in center field as a pro with no problem. Scouts describe Mahtook as having the speed for center and the arm for right, making him one of the better defensive players in the draft.

I could post more but I think the point is made.

ETA: not to mention that he was a 1st round draft pick. Yeah of course you want a team full of first rounders lol

Duplantis is a great leadoff hitter

Cole freeman would lead off for like 90% of college baseball teams.

You need guys like this in your lineup

The guy who had to send a letter to MLB teams that he was going to LSU so they didn't waste a top 5 rnd pick on him?
