I actually think he could play DE in a 3-4 (Dorsey actually excelled at DE this yr for KC)

i'd say there's pretty little chance nevis played at 6'1, 295.

I think he's more 6'0, 280...

Drake's def atleast 6'1" if not pushing 6'2", I got to know him through a class we had together one semester and I was always slightly looking up to him and im 6'.05"

Eta: to answer the OP. I think he will have a mildly successful NFL career. Will be around for a while, but you wont hear his name very often. Maybe make a pro bowl or 2.

Lester Earl just posted the combine numbers, which is a much better indicator than all you rantards eyeballing what you see on TV.

Nevis isn't wide enough to be that gap filler the NFL likes. Williams and Dorsey are.

Nevis is pure muscle and was amazing at the beginning of last year. He was getting as much hype at PP7.

NFL, like us, are probably wondering why he disappeared later in the season.

Naw, they know about the nagging injuries he endured during the season.

Problem with Nevis is his size. 6'1, 285 is small for an NFL DT...dont know how he'd do in a 3-4 as a DE. He can play but I have my doubts how well he can do in the NFL. He was at one point a fringe 1st rounder but it looks like he's going to slip to rounds 3-5.

295 at the combine. Usually players lose weight for the combine in since most of the drill are speed based. He could be at 305 by the start of next season. He is not to small. Hope he slips to a latter round and the Saints pick him up in the 4th. Won't be around that long though. He'll be be a solid disruptive player in the NFl ala Glover. Possible starter. Not pro bowler. I think he could start for the Saints along side Ellis and be a good asset to the team.

He gained weight because the knock on him was his size. He played at 285 last season.

They measure up all players during the summer, he was 285 prior to senior season. Pretty clear too watching him he's not a 300 pounder at his height (just under 6'1).

He can still fill out. I wouldn't worry too much about his size. It all depends on the team and the scheme.

Thanks for posting the combine numbers.

Latest shows him possibly going in the 2nd round to Seattle, pick #57.

Nevis is strong for his size. He works hard and does not take very many plays off. For LSU players who transitioned to the NFL in recent years, he kind of reminds me of Kyle Williams and he's doing okay.

I think he can play 2-technique tackle next to a run stopper and he could play on the end in a 3-4. I agree with you he will be one of the draft steals.
