Because he saw the draft board then looked at LSU’s record

Umpire wasnt calling inside strikes but agree that caught too much of the plate.

He was 2 for 3 with a walk and a sac fly. I'll cut him some slack, even if it was one of those where you need to spoil that pitch if it's close.

Feel like this is the only right answer here. Very very few times in his time at LSU has Curiel looked basically lost at the plate and that FB slung right past him. Arrambide did the same thing a few weeks back. Expecting breaking ball and watched a middle middle FB

Because he sees the pitch from a different angle then we do.

He saw a 96 mph fastball moving in for a fraction of a millisecond and decided not to swing.

He ain’t the only one doing it either. I just, for the life of me, can’t understand it. At this point how are any of them sitting anything other than “ball i can put in play”? frick barrels, frick knocks, frick oppo, frick eye high lines, frick any other approach other than “see ball, hit ball”. Stop looking 3rd strike with the fricking bat on your shoulder.

Probably waiting for "his pitch" to try and show off his power. He's focused on increasing his draft stock and has been all season.

I know that mock draft profile that came out recently that said his power hadn't developed as expected probably eats at him since he's been trying to prove it exists all season.

He's not a bad kid or player obviously, just focused on the wrong things.

On 3rd strike looking your fricking approach didn’t work. So yeah frick it and just hit the god damn ball.

says the guy that knows how to hit 96. And of course you gave a seasons worth of data to know how the opponent pitches in those situations.
