LSU didn't recruit him. Straight from the horses mouth.

LSU didn’t recruit him. Same with Eric Brown who could go in the first round this year.

He actually was not ha ing a good season until the postseason. Was hitting like .246 heading into the postseason and been on fire since.

Majority of people in Haughton, Bossier, Shreveport, etc are LSU fans.

How did Florida miss out on Crews?
Posted on 6/18/22 at 7:08 pm to lsufirefighter
Fire the people that are already gone from the program.
Can we just move on from the recruits we “missed” out on from the previous coaching staff and focus on the players we are getting in with this coaching staff?

LSU tends to either wait until to late or not show as much interest in North Louisiana kids in all sports

He’s my nephew. He will be great. Turned down over 2 million in draft. Started slow, got injured and has now figured it out. He can really hit with great power. Will only get better. Will play second base next year. Very proud of him.

I think LSU stayed away from him bc he was such a draft risk. Plain and simple. Guessed wrong. That happens.

Unless they are top end national recruits LSU has slow played Louisiana kids and not promise anything all the way back to Skip Bertman. They bank on the fact those kids will still come to LSU if a big time out of state recruit says no or goes pro. It works 90-95 percent of the time. There are some that get away.

Did LSU recruit him? Did AK just seem a better fit to him?
Posted on 6/18/22 at 8:19 pm to VincentVega
AK? He’s playing at Arkansas not the University of Alaska

Can we please do away with this narrative
It's not entirely false but is way overblown.
Proximity to Arkansas, is likely to mean some connections to the Hogs. But the area is extremely P&G, in my experience.

Probably didnt help that we’ve got a damn good 1b with another year of eligibility
Posted on 6/18/22 at 10:20 pm to Tiger on the Rag
LSU was late with the offer or would have probably came to LSU.

I think it’s dumb that people say North LA is Arkansas because it’s not and majority are LSU fans.
The thing that is true about North LA is when it comes to proximity to home as a recruiting pitch LSU’s advantage drops considerably. Unlike the rest of the state and especially in south LA to go to another power 5 school there is a major difference in proximity to home. In North LA you have Arky, the Mississippi school, Dallas and even Alabama are at least able to compete with LSU for proximity to home.
That’s not always the most important thing but for some recruits it gives those places a shot at pulling them out of LA.

Ardoin was never coming to LSU. His high school coach is not a fan of LSU. At all…

Because Shreveport really isn't part of Louisiana. They fill more attached to Arkansas and E Texas than to LA, so the pull toward LSU really isn't that great.
Plus Shreveport think the Cowboys are their team instead of the Saints.

Nolan Cain got lazy. You’ll see it at Aggie soon.
Baloney! And you know who the lazy bastards are? The posters who upvoted that slander. Cain was working for a head coach who had packed it in once he got his 2017 contract that would take him to retirement. He was also on a staff with Alan Dunn who was probably useless in recruiting. One guy can’t do it all himself, and that was the position Cain was put in.
I predict Cain will be a successful head coach in the business if he stays in it.
