All the fish in one basket. Same way we lost a corner to Clemson this year again. Dumb arse coaching decisions.

Do you realize Clemson didn't recruit him hard until after LSU started recruiting him hard?

So explain to me how Clemson wanted him more.

If LSU gave him a firm offer early, he very likely ends up there. He committed to Clemson and then when Akers chose FSU they tried to get him but he was already set on Clemson.

True story:

Les made the statement in a recruiting meeting that he didn't like Etienne's "running gait". This is why he was never high on our RB list until the very end.

Guy wanted to go out if state, and it was evident in his comments the full year prior to his commitment to Clemson. We certainly didn’t slow play him; Clemson offered him right at the end after we did. He just wanted a change of scenery. It was an unwittingly good decision on his part. He’s more of a home run hitter that a compete type of back. Clemson’s offence is more conducive to his abilities. He wouldn’t be the star he is if he were at at LSU, and he won’t be such in the NFL.

And Les said the Etienne “didn’t have the want” to play SEC ball.

Travis Etienne from Jennings, Louisiana just right over there about 95 miles west of Baton Rouge: "I really want to go to my home state school, but they really don't want me that much. Let's see now, me running behind Clemson's Offensive Line or LSU's? Me playing for a National Championship or 3rd place in the SEC West and a Mediocre Participation Bowl? I think I'll go to Clemson. Hey, at least they're the Tigers too."

Why can’t we just hire a coach with a brain? It’s been so long.
