I was away and didn't catch the game. Can someone give me a quick breakdown on how the Jalen's performed? Also, did Micah Eugene come in when we went to 5 DB's? Ronald Martin?

I think the Defensive Backfield is going to be key down the road. Wanted to see how they did getting their feet wet. Thanks a lot guys.

They looked ok. A lot of raw potential there.

Mills and Collins both seemed serviceable. Didn't see Micah until mop up time (I might be wrong on this). The freshman safety played, Corey Thompson(?).

The fifth DB was Collins playing corner while Mills shifted to nickel.

The biggest mistakes were made by the older guys. Very correctable imo. Young guys played well.

I think J. Collins started even though Mills was announced. They tried a pass along the sideline that was incomplete with good coverage by him.
J. Mills played mostly after that. They tested him and he did well. I remember a catch on the sideline against him on a roll out. Also what looked like a quick out and up went incomplete but I thought could have been a penalty on him that wasn't called, either way he bit on it and was a little out of position. Overall played well, nothing specatacular either way.

Eugene came a few times and I watched him; he is quick to the ball but really a non factor. Martin didn't play till the very end, surprised he didn't play more. All I can remember from being at the game, haven't watched replay yet.

Collins and Mills both played well,no major breakdowns.
Honestly, about as well as you could ask for a couple of guys who've never played a single game.

no. mills took the 1st snap opposite simon. He did ok, but unt really didn't throw much. He should get tested more vs UW

Collins had good coverage everytime he was thrown at, but he still needs to see the ball better.

Martin and Eugene really didn't play much and that was surprising because of how much Les praised both the whole fall. Eugene played a few snaps in dime, on pretty much every 3rd and long, blizting from the inside ala TM. It was interesting that he didn't go in with the 2nd team at SS, thompson was there instead.

Martin didn't play until the 3rd but i'd rather him start vs UW because loston is clearly not 100 %. He was limping the whole game

You're exactly right,he is great at mirroring, but needs to learn to locate the ball a lot quicker.
I think this will come for him pretty quickly.

loston let the WR run right past him too

if loston is hurt, he doesn't need to play

They did grreat.... but the pass that was completed on Mills, he was in Zone Coverage, maybe Cover 3.. and he had no underneath help so that was a easy completion

They need to move Loston to lb to fill in for Tahj at this point. he is the stiffest S I've seen since Roy Williams. He hits like mack truck but can't turn his hips worth a crap.

Both jalens played a lot. The other guys played in spots and on special teams. We also played a lit if base, which we should cus kwon and debo are the real deal.

The only thing i noticed ab collins is him knowing when to look for the ball, i think that will come with experience.

To me the two touchdowns were on reid and loston. We will miss taylor this year.
