re: How did other SEC teams fare on the road this weekend?

I think the point is losses typically happen on the road
Giving up 1/3 on the road to a ranked team isn’t the end of the world
Losing series / getting swept on the road to an unranked team is not ok
Unless it’s TN, then is hilarious

Is the 3rd game between Missouri and Tennessee 7 innings like the first one?

Tennessee had 2 bad losses coming into the weekend. You can’t say that a team with the #1 ERA in the country has been playing like shite, no matter who they have been playing.

I take it you haven't watched a second of Tennessee this year.

I totally get that and agree with this. But you can’t sit here and say that it’s expected for top 10 teams to lose just because they are playing on the road. Is it the end of the world? No. But that doesn’t mean it’s expected.

I have. I’m actually watching them right now.

If I say it's harder to win a series on the road will you unclench your arse?

Idk why many posters are getting upset at other objectively calling out how poor our weekend rotation was this weekend and the bullpen.
Umpires will have tight strikes zones who gives a shite. Johnson didn't say anything about it.
Looking pass the weekend series win it's ok to call out that this team has a long way to go and pitching is the question mark along with hitting lefties.
Thompson was great game 1 and 2 but then reverted back to last season Thompson.

And you thought coming into this weekend they were playing like a top 10 team?
Even before SEC play began, LSU, Florida, Vandy, Arkansas and South Carolina have looked so much more complete than them in the pre-conference slate.

There's a difference between expressing this concern and saying this team doesn't know how to win because of what happened today.

Sure. If I say Tennessee is actually the worst team in college baseball will that make you happy as well?

I'm not asking you to say that.
They'll make a regional, but I'm not sure they'll be hosting as a 9-16 natty seed or traveling as a 2-seed.

I wish our game had been 7 innings too!

It will. And we’re going to get a couple sweeps this year still. The over-reaction from this board gets worse every year.

Just my guess.. but after this weekend you might wanna change it to “had” not “has.”

This was a great weekend against a ranked opponent who was a win away from the CWS championship series last year.
Totally agree.

How’s that working out for them?
Posted on 3/19/23 at 5:28 pm to Broski
They outscored opponents 45-7 in their 4 games before the weekend. Just because they haven’t looked as good as LSU or Arkansas doesn’t mean they were expected to lose to Missouri. That was my point

I know it’ll change. But I was referring to coming into the weekend. Most people were not expecting Tennessee to lose the series against Missouri.
