Or why did CBK think he's the one?

CBK had a pretty good track record with DCs so what was it about House's scheme that Kelly thought would work?

Everything about our D looks off right now. And nothing's improving.

I would like to know what happened in KC that we don't know. DC leaving the Super bowl Champs to coach the same thing in college. I know he is probably making more money over time. That just doesn't sound right.

House did a great job last year. I don’t think anyone saw this coming. He isn’t without blame, but the players he has to work with aren’t typical LSU defenders. The overall talent through recruiting and the portal has not been up to standard.

He was the LB coach. Not the DC in Kansas City.

Brad White recommended House after White turned the job down to stay at Kentucky.

CBK wanted Freeman & then Brad White.

I think House was 3rd or 4th choice.

This is what's wrong with our fanbase. Scream from the clouds about everything, yet have absolutely no clue what they are talking about.

BK-“Why should I hire you?”
House-“Because I’m willing to put up with an a-hole head coach.”
BK-“Not a lot of people want to work for me you’re hired!”

I’m guessing it was his resume at KC and Kentucky.

maybe maybe not but I can assure you LSU has at worst top 40 talent defensively and are ranked near 100 in total defense.

CBK has to rely on his DC to run the defense.
If he can’t with House, he’ll find someone he can depend on.

How our Dline and LB’s have been coached is beyond me.
Much lesser talent across the country is coached to play with better fundamentals than what we’ve shown.

Ask Pete Golding if Little Nicky is an a-hole. Or ask Lane...

Probably used one of BKs quotes against him like, "my goal is to be elite"

He didn’t do a great job last year though. We had small stretches within games where we played well but if you look at the numbers he was bad. Giving up 30ppg vs P5 opponents last season which included Purdue’s scout team and a quarterback less Arkansas to help bring down the stats isn’t good.

I think he did well based on what he had to work with. I would say 2019 was the last time we had a full defense that was on par with what LSU defenses should look like. Look, House hasn’t schemed worth a frick this year, but you can only do so much when you have second rate talent at all but 1 or 2 spots. Our starting 11 and rotational guys last week aren’t in the same stratosphere as some of the better defenses we’ve fielded over the past 20 years. Talent has to get better somehow.
