During the third or fourth quarter of that 2002 Bama game, when we were still within striking distance, Saban called a successful fake punt which put us relatively deep in Bama's territory. On the very next play, Randall coughed up the ball. Game over.

Yeah - we had 3 fumbles in the game. Dev fumbled in the 2nd QTR, but Randall recovered. The one you mentioned, the play after the fake punt, and a "team fumble" in the 4th QTR, that was also recovered by Bama - IIRC, that was a fumbled center exchange (but, hey, it was 9 years ago, right?)

I hated that day. I recieved a underage drinking ticket right before I went into the game. Then they shut us out. Worst day in a long time.

I remember sitting in the SEZ for that game with a strong north wind blowing in my face. I have never been so cold in LA in my life. To top it off we got destroyed. Horrible experience.

don't forget about damien james. after he was dimissed from the team, the defense wasn't the same. not sure why one player made such a difference but, look at the scores before/after. clear difference.

Turnovers, penalties, missed tackles, blown assignments, etc. Total team loss.

It was a perfect storm of thinking we had a legitimate chance being the defending SEC champions, being at home, being frozen, no offense

STATS!!!!

The Tigers had the No. 1 overall defense in the nation, allowing 246.4 yards a game. Alabama was No. 3, giving up 249.1.

Herb Tyler hit Larry Foster for a huge gain down the East sideline, then hit David LaFleur for a TD that was called back for illegal formation. LSU never got close to scoring again, and we all had to watch Shaun Alexander go off for 291 and 4 TDs in the freezing arse cold.

This one is forever in my memory.

That first drive was great, only to be called back, then we missed the field goal if I remember right...That Alexander went crazy

F*ck it, I'll play, too. Derrick Thomas and Tyler Watts messed us up pretty badly that night as well.

I think David Woodley hit Billy Cannon in the flat and Cornelius Bennett lit him up, tearing his ACL. Geez...

I think Derrick Thomas just sacked Mickey Guidry again. Wait, that was '87.

1. Bama had a damn good, senior lead team.
2. Damian James had been dismissed from team leaving a huge hole at safety.
3. Marcus' confidence was still reeling from th AU debacle.
4. Saban couldn't adjust to sprint draw.
5. Bama was motivated by the fake Saban Bama remarks spoofed on the net.
IT WAS 9 Years Ago. Get over it.
