Wasn't it Shaun Alexander that ran for 200 yards or did I dream that

That was way back in '96, he ran for 292.

Shaun Alexander for Bama and Marcus Randall/Rick Clausen for LSU is what happened. Alexander was a beast and we couldn't move the ball.

No wonder he ran for so many yards against us in 02.

Smoke draw.

Idiot from NYC gave Fran that locker room material.

This was the worst LSU team of the 2000s decade. And they were still a hair's breadth from going to Atlanta.

Hell we were even close than that.

Maybe the most miraculous and unexpected drive in NCAA football history kept us out and sent Arkansas to the SECCG.

Only if the Bluegrass Miracle isn't considered a drive.

That Ark drive was nature's way of restoring the balance after Kentucky

Didn't Bradie James have a fake punt run up the middle for like 30 yards in that game? Him and Randall were the only reason we weren't in the negative rushing.

Some rumor about Saban trashing Bama for the sanctions to recruits is what Fran was crying about. Pic of him pointing in Sabans face instead of shaking his hand after is pretty classic.

And yeah game was cold as shite.

Also, seriously people, Shaun Alexander won me my FFL in 2002.

Saban did figure it out. He told the players how to defend against the slide draw. They just didn't do what he to,d them to do.

Stop me if you've heard this one before

Two things to set straight:

1) Shaud Williams, not Shaun Alexander

2) it was a letdown after the bluegrass miracle

LSU played a pretty good first half...Tyler Watts ran a TD right before halftime to make it either 7-0 or 10-0.

A few smoke draws in the 2nd half put the game away.

I walked from the Chimes back to the Wildlife and Fisheries building once Bama put the game away in the 3rd quarter...Blistering cold that night..probably in the mid to low 30s.

I had great tickets if we would have been winning, right in front of the Alabama band. Instead we froze and got to hear their band play and celebrate every time they scored. Worst gameday experience ever!

LSU was only down 7-0 with 2:07 left in the first half. Alabama had the ball on their own 4. They went 96 yards for a touchdown in 9 plays. Of those 9 plays only one was a pass and it was incomplete. Awful to watch.

That was Shaun Alexander's revenge game for LSU not hiring Steve Spurrier. He was coming but committed to Bama when Mike Archer got the job.

I like these mixed information threads. It reminds me of the time when an old man driving a shuttle on which I was riding talked about listening on the radio back when Billy Cannon and LSU beat Ole Miss and Archie Manning in the Sugar Bowl. I just smiled and agreed with him.

The draw play they ran what seemed like 100's of times and we couldn't stop it.

I was there and it was definitely a top 3 painful loss IMO.
