Because he's on tape,and nothing has been done that can't be changed.
There's nothing the LSU Athletic department can do that will be the right move. People will bitch regardless.
I'm also old enough to know this stuff comes and goes, it's worthless to be angry until it's resolved.

Do you have any opinions aboaut the tape itself Roger? I agree it sounds awful, but if it was leaked to cause maximum damage, we don’t know how the damaging leaked sound bite might compare to what’s on the tape in its entirety. I can definitely speculate he’s referring to paying Smart cash, but he very well might have clarified what he was talking about 30 seconds later and the public would never know since only the most damaging portions of the call were leaked.

The picture is incomplete and we need more evidence.
BUT, i am prepared to be outraged at Will Wade, who, by preliminary appearances has placed the entire program at risk and hurt the reputation of the University.
Many here apparently do not care about that.

In a perfect world, what was the appropriate response?
Ignore the media reports that include transcripts of their coach making vague references to "offers"?
Pretend nothing has happened and that everything Wade said in the transcripts is a misunderstanding? Remember Wade hasn't explained himself -- under recommendation of his legal team.
So what should the admin have done?
Please don't take this as any allegiance to Alexander and Alleva... I think they have proven in many instances to be out of touch. But in this particular case -- with what has been leaked --- what was the appropriate course of action?

Release a statement saying that your coach has stated he has never done business with the man and you investigate more after the season
