How can the SEC office not review the play?

This may have been brought up, but how in the world can the SEC not have a procedure in place where they review calls like the targeting call? I'm not talking right then and there, because obviously they did and still failed. I'm talking durimg the week.

Take the NBA for example, they are well known for reviewing technical fouls and rescinding those techs a day or two after the particular game takes place. For the SEC not to have a procedure in place where they review calls that impact or could impact future games say during the day on a Tuesday, and then announce their ruling on that Tuesday afternoon is an absolute joke.

Is it the SEC or the NCAA that is responsible?

I actually think Greg had a good idea in saying there should be levels of targeting. so a fricking love tap like white did doesn't cost a fricking ejection.

Not sure the NCAA gives them that power.

It should, but then again all officials should be employed by the NCAA, not the conferences. Take it for what it's worth.

Saw a tweet from Moscona that states the SEC can go back and review the call. Screw the whole Bama agenda thing that may or may not be true, the SEC seriously needs to step up to the plate and do the right thing here. Admit a mistake, prove there is no Bama bias.

I know they've reviewed and rescinded suspensions for targeting in the past.

HOWEVER, that was before automatic reviewing on the field was initiated.

And hasn't the SEC already issued a statement saying that there is no appeal and suspension stands?

To me that statement seemed like a reaction, "official thought the QB was hit in the head, rule book states..." sort of deal. I'm hoping they still review the call, see what a terrible call it was, and overturn it. Though I'm not expecting it.

The most suspicious part of this whole situation is that the SEC office had already put out an official statement about the call and suspension less than 30 minutes after the game.

An official's psyche is more important than integrity of the game.
