Win the games that don't matter, then lose the game that counts. To Alabama. In a hilarious and crushing defeat. We'll be hearing 21-0 for the rest of our lives.
So you didn't have fun beating the shite out of Oregon, West Virginia, Auburn, Florida, Arkansas, Georgia, and making Bama frat boys cry on national TV? Grow up and get over the NC game

This is college football not the nfl. The regular season still matters, and thus LSU was the sec champion last year by winning it on the field. They have a trophy and everything.

You do realize only 2 teams make it to that game each year...out of the entire country. It's kinda a big deal just to make it.

She thinks only the national champion coach should be retained or allowed a raise. I'm sure she is the best at her job in the entire country. Everyone else should be fired.

Jesus Christ that's some perspective. +1.

At LSU, 10 wins in the regular season is a smashing success.
It doesn't matter if the trophy case is empty.
Not sure if sarcasm but it matters to some of us.

Definitely not sarcasm. Sunshiners are content to have only 9 and 10 win seasons for the rest of time.

I don't think there are many who feel that way. And that's not what miles has been doing.

You're right. I'm an idiot for being happy for us winning 10 games this year. I should have expected us to go undefeated like last year, even though we've only done it once before that in our school's history

Hey troll, LSU has won 11, 13, and 10 to this point in the last 3 seasons.
You are a dumb frick.

Please see this post. I don't think you're an idiot for being happy we won 10 games. I think we should expect all that we're capable of.

So the best regular season in history and an sec championship didn't matter.
Did an undefeated regular season matter for the '07 Patriots? Let me answer that for you........HELL NO

While that is the first logical post I've seen you make, I do have to disagree with you
I really don't think that we were better than Alabama last year. On 11/5, the game was hard fought, evenly matched, and very evenly played. Anyone of us could have capitalized walked out with a win and we did. Afterwards I was so relieved because I was sure that we would not have to play them again. Then OSU fricked up and Alabama proved that they were better than us on 1/9. Sure Miles coached a bad game then, but even if he had coached a great game I am not confident that we would have won.
As for this year, with everything that has happened with the injuries, I am extremely happy with a 10-2 season. I like most people thought that we'd win the NC this year, but that was before we lost TM7, Blue, Faulk, etc.

And yet LSU was still 13-0 and sec champions. It was an incredibly fun season. They still have that trophy, which nowadays is only slightly inferior to the mnc trophy. Every other team in the country would kill to trade places that year, save bama. And even they know they weren't the best in the sec that year. Again, this is not the nfl, the season actually matters.

My two cents on throwing out Miles's record:
First off his record is great. No one can seriously dispute that he is the winningest coach in our history. Not many schools have a similar record
The thing that bugs me and likely others about the record is the losses that he has had. How many losses occured where if our offense had played the way they are capable of we win the game. I can think of a few recently that likely cost us a shot at the NC the last few years. For example Florida this year, NC game last year, Auburn in 2010, Flordia in 2009. I dont expect us to go undefeated every year, but I dont accept losing games for the same reasons year after year.
People argue that we should be happy with 10-2 due to the Dinardo and Hallman years. We should not be satisfied with being 10-2 when we could/should be 12-0 just because we were crappy in the 90s.

It's more that most of recognized we could easily lose 3-4 games this year due to injuries/attrition/inexperience at a number of key positions.
