How long has your wife been/plan to be pregnant ? Unless she just happens to be an elephant...the gestation period should be over by now !

Unless I somehow get to drive around the miles of traffic line up to get in, I see no point in purchasing a pass a head of time. A pass does not gaurntee you shite. There will be people checking for passes or selling them at the entrances of whatever streets they block off. So just buy it then. Additionally how are they gonna know how many passes to sell? How many cars came through the gates? You may buy a pass ahead of time and still get turned around.

They also have no clue how many people park in the areas they are going to block off. We fit 8 to 12 cars in spots not designed for parking. I don't thing LSU really thought this out other than the money aspect. Its going to be a major cluster F*&^. I would rather them make my lot a reserved lot and sell me my pass at the beginning of the season like the other reserved lots. Hell its only $10 less than a reserved lot.

Nothing has changed on my end. I still plan on being out there at the arse crack of dawn. The only thing that might change is more people will start riding with me in the morning and carpooling with others. Which in my case is a good thing because I will have help unloading and setting it up

She is due in October.

So she is going to be miserable in Sept and early Oct, but she is a huge fan and will still want to participate as long as she can. I am thinking she will make it to the tailgate but get tired by game time and may want to leave.

Then after the kid comes she is probably gonna want to come for a little while and then leave.

See my problem.

I know eff me for not planning better on when to knock up the old lady.

I've been MIA this off season.

So basically there are now 3 different types of parking?

1 - Full year parking permits
2 - One day pay spots (used to be free parking)
3 - Free parking out in the boones

As long as the tailgate group I hang out with continue to tailgate in the same spot. Which they have been tailgating in for 15-20 years. The only impact this will have on me is paying $20 to park in the hay lot.

Our group of 20-30 folks is probably done too.

There will be an impact and Albertson's, Winn Dixie, Mockler Beverage, etc., will all feel it first.

Can't wait to see how basketball season tickets turn out next year and the year after, so we can see what will happen to football down the road.

Rest assured, there is ALWAYS a price to pay for changes like this...

the traffic is always a cluster-you-know-what, and that will be dramatically worse now. The clowns are really out of touch with the negative impact they are having on the game day experience.

I know when I went to UGA in 09 they charged $50 for most lots around campus to "tailgate". You couldn't even truly tailgate on campus unless you had a greek or school sponsored tailgate. AND you couldn't even be there more than 3-4 hours before kickoff. It sucked overall. Hope LSU doesn't come to that point.

Not sure where you were but we parked for FREE in a garage on campus, walked maybe 100 yards to an RV lot on campus for tailgaiting (arrived in the morning pretty early and many RVs had been there overnight)... rode a FREE bus to the gate of the stadium ... but walked back after the game .... basking in the glow of our victory... and the walk was maybe 15 - 20 minutes -- about the same as Tiger Stadium to LSU Greeks on Dalrymple.

Just sayin.... what you say Did NOT happen to me at UGA in any way, shape or form!

I have a feeling this will effect our tailgate indirectly.

It is getting to be a big financial burden to attend LSU games.

The tickets are in the $70 range now (IF you are lucky enough to find someone willing to sell for a decent price). The parking will be $20 per car. If you want to do a decent tailgate you will need to spend about $10 a person at least. You're looking at $100 per person per game and that's without considering $5/gallon gas.

This just maybe too much for a day of fun for some of the people in my group.

Dude -- you must not hunt, fish, golf, or go to the beach and stay in a hotel... 'cause $100 a person for full day of entertainment is CHEAP in my opinion???

Yeah, I'd rather be able to park for FREE when I'm on campus... but if all these "hard core tailgate" fans bug out over having to pay $20 to park... eff 'em ... it'll make it that much EASIER for the folks that do show up.

the first couple weeks... probably some chaos -- both b/c LSU will be figuring it out and because a lot of people will NOT have figured it out and will be driving in and saying "what's going on?" b/c they must live under rocks with no TV, radio, internet, or newspapers... geeeeeze.

If $20 a car cramps your world so much as to cancel your entire tailgate.... hmmm, better go get a second job on Saturdays 'cause you don't have the money to be out partying anyway.... FWIW (not directed specifically at the poster I replied to).

Again, just sayin'.... damn get used to it, it's not the end of the universe or death nell of all tailgating at LSU for goodness sake.

Kinda like YOUR reaction to the points I'm making about this whole thread being a bunch of overblown overreaction... would that be what you mean.

The key point I make is --- $100 for a full day of entertainment is NOT a lot of money and you cannot particiapte in many (if any) hobbies for a lot less money so adding $20 per car to the expense of tailgating is not an overly burdesome expense in my opinion.
